It would be like a step back in time mulling around the old bike shops. More drooling than buying.

Took the Fazer out for a spin this morning as i had a few things to go and do and although it was cold the weather was fairly still and clear but damp.

I have been using the car for the daily commute at the moment as the roads i need to use are unlit country roads and the Fazer headlights are useless even on full beam. I was out for about an hour and it confirmed my worst fears as most of the roads as well as being unlit seem to have a thin layer of mud that has been spread by the local cun ..... sorry, farmers who seem to take pleasure in dragging half their fields out and laying it all over the counties road surfaces.

Their current money earner is digging a few million of these things out of the ground which causes shit loads of mud as you can see by the tyres on the Fazer ...added fun is they drop a few here and there along the aforementioned unlit roads as well :wtf: :wtf:

That's not a road. It's a farm track.

You need a new Satnav :obscene-birdiedoublered:

The road is about 20 feet behind where I was stood. I use this lane as a cut through to avoid a busy junction that queues up and cars take ages to get out of 😉

I'm likely being a tad hard on the place,it's not all bad,but repeated greedy, inward looking, self serving councils have wrecked the commercial town centre and it's now a mix of depressing boarded up shop fronts and the rest is Turkish barbers and vape shops. Even the charity shops can't survive.
All patrolled by 'no quarter given' traffic wardens slapping one on your windscreen, just in case you were presumptuous enough to try to bring footfall to the place.

I nipped out for a coffee & catch up with one of my mates,he's bought a 650 Transalp for Winter hack duties,my SV650S is my Winter hack bike.
I was surprised at how much bigger the Transalp is compared to my SV.

The blokes that used to paint the paramilitary murals had plenty of practise over the years and now the shooting has calmed down they needed some new subject matter to show off their skills ;)

Rode over to Ronda in Andalucia today to check out some of the roads for a future tour. Time restraints meant taking the motorway to Granada. It was bloody cold north of the snowcapped Sierra Nevada, down to 2°c. Then proper roads from Granada down to Ronda and then to the coast at Marbella.

Don't think much of the Costa Del Sol, very crowded along the coastline with ugly biildings.

Staying in Motril tonight, and heading home via the Spanish Stelvio (from Velefique to Tijola), and then exploring another road down to Sorbas and home.

Such a tight deadline, the only photo I took was this one that I took after reaching the hotel

Yesterday I rode the A348 from Tablate (north of my stop in Motril) to Benahadux, which was a great road, twisty and although there were a few big trucks on it, there were quite a few places to pass. Scenery was great too. Encountered a light rain shower for about 10 minutes along here somewhere.

Then rode north along the N340a, and onto the start of the A3102 Velefique and the start of the Alto.

It's a great ride up through the summit and then through Balcares and onto Tijola. In the 50+kms along here, I only saw 4 cars coming the other way. And not a single pothole, the road surface is just so good.

It was bloody freezing at the top though (altitude 1820 m), thick frost and -2°c.

From Tijola A344 east onto Olula del Rio, then south on A349-AL6105-AL5100-A1000 then the A340e east to Almocaizar, where I took the A7 motorway home.

A great two day trip, but yesterday showed me that I think Ronda is overated. There were lots of cars (stickers showed the majority were hire cars) driving slowly and unpredictably, presumably looking at the views.

I'll be going to Velefique again in February to ride with some mates coming down to Malaga from Czechia and Poland, so will look at other routes from Tijola, as there are many others to pick from.Too many perhaps?

(Don't know why, but can't attach more photos, despite reducing their size, and they are all.jpg files).
