Cooked Moussaka according to the Hairy Biker's recipe. It takes forever and is messy. The lamb mince is 20% fat, so I fear it may be a tad greasy. I may pass out due to hunger before it is finished...

Re: What have you done today thread?
Very short walk up the mountain this morning. Got up really early but the clouds were too low. Then I looked a bit later and it was snowing. About 8am the skies looked to be clearing so I got sorted and walked up for half an hour!! For some reason I just didn't feel it this morning, but it's the first time I've been out on a pre season opening!! But with the light very flat, I didn't go buy a pass, I skied back down from the short walk and drank a lot of coffee and then a lot of hot chocolate with some friends!! LOL
It's now absolutely chucking it down with snow, so maybe we will get the 1m that was threatened over the weekend!!
Just had a bacon baguette and will head out in a bit for some Irish coffee!! Not likely to have another Saturday this year!

"Hello, Gremlin speaking.....Oh, hello The Ritz....What? Could I decorate your tree? No, I'm afraid not as I'm too busy creating the magical Christmas tree at Chez Gremlin whilst Mrs. G. is out...."

Re: What have you done today thread?
Diocesan Synod today. So spent time voting on issues and listening carefully to the budget requirements going forward for mission. All in all a good day with a clear vision shared by the Bishop and team. Home to have a quick late lunch and then out to do shopping for the wife, home again to sort out a couple of bits and pieces. Then managed to write sermon for tomorrow and ended up cooking three nice rump steaks with baby potatoes and peas for dinner. Quite nice nosh and the cats and dog got in on the scene as well. Now going to relax for a short while and have an early night as I have a busy day tomorrow and will be busy for the next couple of weeks in the lead up to Christmas...

Re: What have you done today thread?
It was such a shame yesterday there wasn't enough sun to have a proper ski, but I had a fab day with some fab people A couple of fab cards and some awesome pressies!!
Started the evening with a rum - cafebar too busy for inside so I sat outside, which is fine, for me! I did make my new friend shiver (over in the distance!!) cos he's not a fan of cold/snow!! Sadly he's working this weekend - well, sadly for me, but he's avoided being up here in some serious snow!!
On the walk home Mr La Plagne was shining bright
Didn't realise this pic was so fuzzy!! (took it when I got home!! some of my mates weren't keen on Genepi, so I had more than I 'needed' )- but I do have the best friends!!
So this morning I had bacon and black pudding for breakfast!!
Some friends travelled around Vietnam, Lao and a couple more places around there and they brought an awesome scarf back for me, hand woven and no polyester!!
And my ski buddy posted me a tea towel! Last year she sent me Creme Egg Tote Bag, this year, the tea towel!! (I need to find out where she gets these things, I want to make a jacket with a creme egg panel!! )
She also sent me a card and inside she wrote - "Don't know why this made me think of you!!"
Now waiting for the clouds to clear a bit cos there's a forecast of a couple of hours sunshine, and if that happens, I plan to head out and see if I still have my actual ski legs!! (Touring ski legs don't count!! )

The nearby lake had flooded over but I assumed the perimeter cycle path would be ok...
Couple of feet deep. At least it was at the point that I turned back.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Had my kids and in-laws over for roast dinner today. Smashed the dinner out of the park. Clean plates all round and kids were picking bits of whatever was left over in the kitchen like vultures! . Heard my M-i-L ask my dauigher what she did for a job probably 20 times and each time my daughter answered with the same enthusiasm. Such a lovely young lady even if I do say so myself.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Detailed the Explorer ST.... which rewarded me by having an electrical shit fit & wouldn't start.
and in a stroke of pure genius, it was blocking getting the SBH or F350 out so I couldn't even go get a new battery if needed..
Then I remembered I had one of those little magic booster boxes that you charge up by plugging it into a USB port on the computer. WooT!!
By chance I happened to check it about a month ago & had fully charged it (it was down to 98%)
anywho, it was at 100% when I needed it & it fired the ST right up. Only dropped to 95%. It's now plugged into the computer to charge it again. ST has the battery charger attached & charger showed it was down to 70%.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Two good services this morning and then our Advent Angels event this afternoon. Quite a few people there, including our local MP who came with her children and husband to enjoy the creative activities. She could just chill and enjoy being there with no need for security, just as a mum to enjoy being with her children. Then home to cook dinner, paprika chicken with coconut rice and peas. G&T with the wife and I've just had a tot of cognac mixed with lovage. Very smooth and very nice!

For future reference: Chappie dog food is indistinguishable from Haggis, the recipe is basically the same.

Smell is pretty different though Let me know when you do a taste test, I know a few recipes that are 'basically' the same but taste very different

The dog food probably has a load of fish offcuts to bulk it out.
Even bland can be a type of character
