Ticked 'yes' to mince pies - but actually these were filo instead of traditional pastry.

Filly is testing various recipes.

Cranberry and ginger cookies worked well too.

Roast spuds (enough for 12 people - there will be eight here ... ) are done and in the freezer.
Even bland can be a type of character

Cut the present list right down as most of the blokes in our family dont want anything and its a PITA to tyr and find stuff, so thats good news. Not cooking as we're off to the pub for Xmas dinner. Everyone back to ours afterwards so drinks, food and snacks will be bought nearer the time. A few house guests will be here for a day or two afterwards and my great Nephew wants to come to Uncle Taipans for his boxing day birthday and thats about it. I styill love Xmas but it isnt anywhere as exciting now my kids have grown up.

Same here. Present list cut right back. A lot of the kids we used to buy for are grown up, me and my sister don't do gifts so it only leaves a few. Mrs. G is taking her dad to see the Abba Voyage show just before Xmas, so that's his present done.

To make life easier for others, I bought myself a retro 80's Fila Settanta trackie top*, in which I shall wear whilst doing a bit of scallying and TWOC'ing in the New Year. I have kindly volunteered my S-I-L to buy this for me for Christmas, as she always moans she never has any idea what to but me.

With my shoulder and hips problems it's been a bit slow to get in the mood.
We're gonna put up tree and deccies today. I say we, but it'll be 99% Pen doing the work.

We won't be going out socialising much, so we'll invite folk here.

We'll make it a good 'un. :)

The Viz Profanisaurus has a cracking entry, 'On the bus to Hebden Bridge'.

You can probably Google it. ;)

Apart from the first on the list, none.

I'd rather suck dick than eat a mincer pie.

I ticked mince pie cos I just bought one from my friend's shop - with a jar of clotted cream!! Just got to do some stuff and will then warm the mince pie and add the cream :D :D

TBF, I don't generally have more than one, so this will be it!!

Up until yesterday I was working through Christmas, but one of the other managers surprised me by changing the roster, then emailing me to tell me he will cover it, so that was a result. He’s retiring in May so he’s happy to do it.
Pressys bought, just between me and the F, but we got our own so not sure it counts. Grandkids all want cash so that’s easy, don’t do pressys for my sisters, nor them for me.
Mince pies are a staple for me, all year round.
Just me, the F and her daughter for Christmas dinner,.
Just got to get the wine for Christmas dinner and I’m done I think.
Mick.

Tree's up and the first lot of mince pies I bought have almost been gone.

Apart from those two I'll be skipping everything else on the check-list :)
