I used to, he was a great person to have on the board, he brought knowledge, he brought bikes, spannering, lathe rebuilds, random hardware, then he turned into what i have to put up with today and no, i don't like him. Not in the slightest. IMO he's singlehandedly destroyed a chunk of this place and what it stood for. I'm sure other people feel differently about him and that's OK, maybe he brings them debate that they value, sure i can't argue with that.... But that's not what this place was for or indeed still is for in my mind.

It all broadens the subject matter of the forum, I don't mind it. 🙂👍

In 5 minutes I can find out about garage heaters, America politics, how to restart a wet bike, how to waste money on competitions and how my premium bonds compare with others.

Excellent stuff. 👍

I got that impression, and the bizarre thing is, Screwdriver said that would happen 68 pages back in this thread and just look...he'been proven right again.

One conspiracy theory has been proved to be valid - out of just about everyone from the QAnon pit of shithousery. It's a low hit rate for recycling everyone else's conspracy theories. It's not like he think of them himself.

Well if you want a serious answer, ask a sensible question. I dare not list all of my opinions, which people like you call conspiracy nonsense - until they become the next days news. @Weeksy would have a heart attack.

So I will simply point out the obvious flaw in your logic. Time does not permit me to draw you a Venn diagram so this might hurt a bit if you're not used to thinking.

Yes I have a very wide range of sources and follow a very wide range of outlets including the usual suspects; Don Bongino, Jordan Peterson, Russel Brand**, Ben Shapiro, Candace Owens. Those "right wing" personalities are indeed the ones I tend to agree with. Then of course there is X, YouTube, Tucker Carlson, Rumble, Joe Rogan etc.

You are saying that I am merely repeating everything off that hornets nest of rabble rousing mayhem. Cut/paste job done, no filter?

The facts speak for themselves which is why I find myself in the unusual position of being criticised for being a conspiracy theorist on the one hand and then, when those "conspiracy theories" turn out to be true, vilified for daring to say "I told you so". Can't win (don't care).

But back to your "proposition" that my posts are merely ALL of those unfiltered right wing conspiracy theories; that is clearly not the case. You won't catch me pontification on fucking UFO's or UAP's (the latest euphemism, Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena). A deliberate attack on male fertility by Bill Gates (look up Bovaer***), Biden body doubles, all of the COVID theories .. well anyway, I am not going to list ALL of the shite from those very same sources.

...and that's my point. Like anyone else, I can see this stuff, consider it, form an opinion and share it here, usually in response to an actual question. I rarely start a thread because @Weeksy has a habit of locking them or deleting them. I also have a small number of trolls who delight in simply winding me up. What, for example do you mean by this: I knew it was all I would ever need with you...

It's also why there is little point me starting a bike restoration on here. I might share those two XT500's which I am restoring as we speak but at the moment, a few days after being banned for two weeks after replying to an obviously contentious subject, I'm not feeling the love. There's every chance I'll get kicked out just for this very response!

---xxx---

Unlike everyone else (especially people like you) I do not criticise the source or make personal attacks on the person. I restrict myself to discussing the topic at hand based on whatever factual information I may choose to believe. And before you say "aha, gotcha"; as often as not (with people like you!) the topic at hand happens to be Screwdriver. Not his opinion. Not the topic he is sharing his opinion on but his persona.

So I do often find myself in that sort of argument which I inevitably "lose" because I appear to be the only one who will get banned when it goes ming mong ping pong. The other option for me is to just silently accept baseless criticism, "you're mad", "you're a CT", "You can't see this", You can't see that" or my personal favourite "so you must think <blah>".

So which is it? Am I merely parroting all of the conspiracy nonsense or am I making a précis after it passes through what's left of my rotting brain? Because if it is the former, then you are suggesting all of those "conspiratorial " sources must therefore be somewhat prescient. Do you really believe everything Tucker Carlson says is true? What about Russell Brand now that he has "seen the light"? Is everything on YouTube true? Is X now a respected outlet for factual news content?

No. The fact is, like everyone else I can see what is being said and pick and choose what I believe to be true. That is why I am right more often than I am wrong and I don't post bollocks about Joe Biden being as sharp as a tack or Trump being like Hitler.

TLDR: don't shoot the messenger.

Screwd.

Interesting that you admit to being swayed by popular opinion, by sheer weight of numbers. So "go with the flow" would be your attitude. If enough people tell you you are "wrong" you must be wrong. Is that the correct interpretation of your position?

I do not subscribe to that. As a free thinking individual, I will make up my own mind. I will listen to any argument any number of people might make to me to try and persuade me one way or another but ultimately, it will be my decision.

If I was a "normal" 100 IQ type of person and those 5 are chosen at random then two will be above average, one will be at average and two will be below average intelligence. But those particular five happen to be a subset, self-selected from a larger group. They represent a specific set of individuals who disagree with me.

If they were able to demonstrate they were smarter than I was or better informed or merely open minded individuals, then I should listen to their opinions and give them my full consideration.

However... back in the real world:

I can't dig any deeper into that rabbit hole because whenever I engage with those five they never (ever) explain their position. They just say "you're a mule". That's all they can do. I ask, "why do you say that" and the reply is ALWAYS: ":I can't be bothered", "you wouldn't understand", "you're just looking for an argument", "you're a conspiracy theorist"...

No. I think I can safely ignore those people thank you.

And that is all she wrote. Please take any further discussions about "Screwdriver" to it's own dedicated thread where I will be happy to discuss anything and everything Screwdriver related.

This is a thread celebrating Trumps monumental victory against the most extreme odds - assuming he makes it into office. can we get back on-topic now please?

And with all that research the only “right” you have broadcasted is Biden pardoning his son 👍
Good hit rate

I think most people would have guessed something like that would happen. They are just immensely disappointed by it. It means Biden’s legacy (whatever there is) is damaged.
I guess Mrs Biden was worried what would happen to Hunter in the penal system with Donald at the helm
