Without meaning to stereotype, it's mainly overweight Americans who do this, I suppose to avoid the exertions of heaving their obese bodies off the chair once again.

Do they?
My experience of authentic Mexican food wasn't great, it was a bland mess of beans with a tiny bit of meat.

I think the Kashmiris (and poss Gujaratis) do the fruity curry thing. (IIRC Vesta chicken curry had raisins in).
As an aside, the owner of a place we used to use in Bradford always laughed merrily at the popularity of the 'chicken Madras'. 'Ho ho ho! They're all vegetarians in Madras!'.

Chocolate isn't sweet after all. Chocolate bars are, but Cocoa itself is bitter isn't it? Well its actually a lot of things...Mr Moofo wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 7:08 pmThey can/do use cocoa mass - so bitter dark pre chocolateLe_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 6:28 pmDo they?

Somewhere at the back of the cupboard I've got the Green & Black's Chocolate cookbook, there's a whole section on savoury Chocolate recipes.

The missus likes the Lindt 90% and Chococo 100% stuff. It's not chocolate as we know it and anyone that's tried eating cooking chocolate expecting it to be like Cadburies is in for a shock.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2024 7:41 amChocolate isn't sweet after all. If you're cooking I find this stuff great.
AFAIK though 'traditional' cooking chocolate has a different ratio of carb/fat/protein to 100% cocoa eating chocolate.

The sweetness thing is 'cause Ketchup has been adulterated into a shadow of what it should be, chiefly by adding sugar.

For me it’s more that I can never think of anything that tomato sauce would be better on than a brown sauce?

I don't often agree with you, but in this instance you are absolutely correct

Meh, most brown sauce falls into the same "adulterated pish" category anyway. It's supposed to be tamarind date sauce, most of it is caramel vinegar sauce.

Toast, or freshly baked bread, with a generous amount of butter, and topped off with a thick layer of Bovril. Farkin' lovely.
