Lebkuchen ?
Google says maybe. When I see them in Lidl I always buy them, then eat the whole packer in a oner.
You can have my share - they are disgusting - way too much clove and cinnamon

Love em.

Working as I do for a German company, these often appear in the office in home made form around December.

We're doing Christmas with the family in Denmark this year. So it'll be their massive farm kitchen, Frikadeller, Pork, parsley sauce and much Jaegermeister.

Plus they'll finally show me how to make Kransekage well.

Together with a nice strong cheese to eat with it :)

But now someone has mentioned turkish delight, I need some
I remember Christmas also involving Metis Jelly Fruits, a Christmas Log - and brandy butter. Nobody else seems to have heard of the last one.

TBH, I think M&S and Tesco upmarket pigs in blankets, stuffing balls and turkey gravy take a lot of beating
Despite having lived in German speaking lands for a while, I hate stollen, and the heavily spiced Christmas biscuits - and can't work out what all the fuss about pannettone is!
Totally remember brandy butter!! But I do prefer rum butter :angelic-green:

I definitely don't 'get' pannettone. And I think my tastes have changed as the last couple of Stollen have tasted just, well, dry :( :( :(

Eat it as the Italians do: slathered in mascapone cheese.

My sister in veggie

A few years ago I made her a brussel sprout and chestnut pie with a camembert centre. It was actually really nice

When we go out we'll often look at the veggie menu, not cos I am one obvs, but quite often there seems more effort put into making veggies interesting than meat based stuff?

I think they have to 'add value' in the prep to keep the prices comparable with the meat things otherwise people jib at paying for things that are, in theory, made with cheap ingredients. + I read that people will opt for cheaper (smaller margin) things on the menu if the price differential is obvious.

If things look interesting enough I'll go for a veggie option as the mood takes me.

Also, Panettone makes a bloody lovely Bread and Butter pudding, when adding in a few bits of high-cocoa chocolate and a few dollops of good marmalade before pouring over the egg custard and baking.

Me either  , we've had 2 massive ones from Italy delivered today (freebies from a well know coffee company) along with various other European treats and coffee, still I suppose it saves me thinking about what to buy 2 folk for Christmas.

Well even if he has, I'm still hoping for a dinner invite now.
