Harris are still involved in modern bikes-Royal Enfield acquired the assets, employees, trade names, know-how, and intellectual property of Harris.
Harris did the frame design on the 650 twins and Himalayan I believe.

I'm not sure if Harris have should have the reputation they have, I've ridden a Magnum 2 and it wasn't that great, the engine sits high in the frame, the F1 frame is good but it's a copy of the late Suzuki XR69 frame, I don't believe Harris designed it, I think Suzuki did, the early ones look a lot like a modified GS1000 frame.

Couple of times, but with all the miserable buggers on here I reckon he'd fit right in

New series of the Motorbike Show with Cole and Millyard.... Exceptionally interesting watching him rebuild the engine.

I must admit I could take or leave old King Cole, but Mrs.Skub likes watching his stuff,so by proxy I watch too.
I quite enjoy it for what it is,but I'm a real fan of the 'matter of fact' genius that is Millyard,so his contribution is what I like best.

Watched one last night. His 2 up speed record. That viper thing sounded brilliant. He had a go on a brand new emissions compliant 2 stroke. 35k I think.

Yeah,a Langen. Servicing is a bit like a race bike afair, jobs need done in term of hours of engine use, rather than miles. Tis pretty, but way too salty for my tastes.

Re: Bikes on tv.
I like the Motorbike show, some people think Cole's irritating but a lot of people who ride bike's are miserable,I don't mind him & he's getting motorcycling on the television. On YT, there's a good interview with him & Steve Parrish on the brooklands channel.
That GT750 he's restoring in this series is costing a lot more than I'd spend, but I supose he claims the cost back.
I now get shed envy when the cameras show you his sheds.
Besides racing, what other motorcyle related shows are out there?
Langen had a couple of their bikes at Oulton Park BSB last September, they created a lot of interest, but style wise they didn't do it for me & I can think of better ways of spending that kind of money

Re: Bikes on tv.
There's an episode in a previous series where he rides a slabby GSXR and insists that everybody calls them Gixies. He says Gixies at least half a dozen times. I felt like writing a strongly worded letter to my MP.
Re: Bikes on tv.
When the major channels ignore the technical and engineering aspects of our hobbies and only care about cooking, eating, decorating, and gardening we have to be grateful that Henry Cole masterminds something different that is closer to real life for many of us reprobates.
His unfailing positivity for everything he rides and everywhere he goes can be irksome but there is plenty of entertainment value too.

Watched 4 D and B now and tbf, you could watch half hour of a lot more shite than this. Pretty much just buying and selling but they do find some interesting stuff.

Re: Bikes on tv.
Another new series of the Motorbike show started last night. I know some don't like Cole... but it's still bikes on TV.
