Instant Wine Cooler ???
Occasionally the missus brings home a nice bottle of wine, but then she needs to wait ages for it to chill.
Today she mentioned that she'd heard about an instant wine cooler.
I've Googled but found nothing.
Is there such a thing? Or a quick way to cool wine?
TIA

Re: Instant Wine Cooler ???
On the rare occasions that happens to me I either chuck it in the freezer (takes about 30 mins), throw some icecubes in, or just have something else, there's always something else right?.

Re: Instant Wine Cooler ???
Buy an extra bottle of wine.
Leave that one in the fridge.
When she comes home with warm wine, put warm wine in fridge and take cold one out.
You only need 1 extra bottle of wine. It's really really easy. Imagine if it was beer "well I've got cold ones already in the fridge" it's the same

Re: Instant Wine Cooler ???
The solution is a specific wine fridge. Mine usually has a beer or two in it as well.

Some ice in a cocktail shaker, add wine, shake it like a polaroid picture, poor into wine glass using the shaker lid to prevent ice in the glass.
Yes, you'll dilute it a little bit with the ice and the wine might not like being shook up, but it'll be very cold.

Re: Instant Wine Cooler ???
I keep the wine fridge at around 11 degrees. Cool, but not frozen.
Mrs CJ keeps the proper fridge much colder.

Re: Instant Wine Cooler ???
Local offy used to have a machine that you stuck your bottle in for about 2 mins and it cooled it instantly.
But other than that, above options of stock rotation, ice cube in the glass or just having some fucking patience, you alcy bastard.

She already has some plastic ice cube thingies so they don't melt into the wine.

How far does she have to drive home? You could put a freezer in the car and by the time she got home it would be at least colder if not completely chilled.

Re: Instant Wine Cooler ???
Years ago my good lady had a wine freezer jacket. It was literally a gel filled jacket that you kept in the freezer for just such an occasion. You squeezed the bottle into it and it chilled the wine quickly. I think she binned it in favour of just lobbing the bottle in a freezer drawer for half hour and she will also put ice in wine rather than drink it warm.
