Aerosol tin yes, it goes a long way. I warm it up in fairly hot water for a few minutes then spray directly on engine. Then use paint brush to spread, a rag would work aswel.

About 6 years up to now and i'd guess it's still more than 50% full. I do exactly that, clean cloth and spray till damp. It's quite 'greasy' so i wear a pair of gloves when using it.

Probably the best way to apply ACF is getting a fine mist with a compressor,but not all of us have one and the spray bottle you get with the non aerosol stuff is crap even when you warm the bottle.

As mentioned,dunking whatever bottle you use into hot water for a few minutes makes life a lot easier.

I have a plastic bottle (about 500ml from memory) which I apply with a paintbrush. It seems more effective then the aerosols I used in the past but I'm not an expert. It does seem to keep the corrosion at bay.

I think I've had the bottle for quite a few years. I put some on any vulnerable looking areas of the underside of my old Ford Tourneo mini bus the other day, also cleaned up the inside of the wheel arches and put some in there.

I use the spray tins like dodgy and a cloth and brush for the fiddly bits. Leave it in hot water to thin it out and remember it never properly dries so looks wet all the time. I cover the wheels, tyres and brakes with some old towels then spray

I use it on the bikes for winter riding and dont clean them while the ACF is on as it lets the crap build up on top of the ACF then wash the lot off in early the next year.

I get both bikes coated with a tin and normally have some left over.

I bought some for the GSXS the other year but never actually used it. Despite my garage being fairly damp at times the finish has held up really well with it just being clean. The oily finish puts me off a bit so not bothered

I bought the 32 oz./0.95 litre tribal size bottle a while back and on current usage it's almost certain to outlast me. I wonder if it has a secondary use as embalming fluid?
