Re: Go woke, or go broke...
I woke up, it was a nightmare, I went back to sleep.
Jaguar does not register on my radar and whatever their marketing ploy is, it is possible they are trying to get a media storm and attention. Personally, I won't buy a product with that sort of advertising bent, I'm not interested in their lifestyle presentation, I just want a car. So please, sell cars, not lifestyles.

One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.

Despite what ZX81 might have read on his favourite news feeds, this hasn't negatively impacted Jaguar sales (or non existent share prices) one iota (yet), because they've already planned for a total lack of sales.JLR are deliberately seeking to be provocative and address an entirely new audience. By not having any Jaguar cars available to buy until 2026, JLR doesn’t need to concern itself with a short-term fall in sales – a near 100 per cent drop during the next 12-18 months is already baked-in. It seems upsetting the regulars on GB News is a small price to pay if the world is talking about the Jaguar brand again.

I’ll need to see a very good advert before I’m buying one then!Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 5:28 pm they're aiming to move the average price of their cars from 55k to 'around double that'.

The advert/video is hideous and poorly judged - I'll bet the cars do well though.

I'm not sure anyone, even JLR know what the cars will be, just more expensive.

A lot of Tata shareholders are going to be surprised.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 5:56 pm Despite what ZX81 might have read on his favourite news feeds, this hasn't negatively impacted Jaguar sales (or non existent share prices) one iota (yet), because they've already planned for a total lack of sales.

They'll probably cope
Or, perhaps more likely, the fortunea of TATA will be decided by forces much greater than one advert that's got a few snowflakes in a twist.

It's pretty hilarious. Although a few old blokes have probably been clutching their chests and hitting the deck. You could probably design a power source driven by the throbbing veins on the rest's heads too.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 9:04 am They'll probably cope

I'm hoping they do an ape playing the drums like Phil Collins next, or rerun some Benson and Hedges cigs adverts rebranded as Jaguar.
This will be getting a few hits...

Tata steels lime production will be down to just one running kiln at Shap quarry* over this, mark my words. Jaguar car production will go from zero into minus figures and they'll actually start to take cars back off the road**Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 9:04 am They'll probably cope

*Sometimes referred to as the cloud factory cos to kids thats what it looks like it produces.
**This has beneficial side effects cos the elderly owners couldn't drive so well in the dark (It's the glare, and nowt to do with their cataracts, honest guv) or drive past a papershop without crashing when they see the Daily Mail headlines.
Less pressure on the NHS and kids can cycle past the Spar in relative safety.
