464,000+ now. Labour got 9,708,716 votes in the general election. I wonder what happens if the petition gets more votes than that. :hmmm:

Yup. Considering that (of the population that voted) nearly 10 million voted Con or Lib it's surprising that anyone is  about a Twitter clickathon.

Methinks with a government being elected to 5 years in post, the merry band of 'social media politicians' need to think about pacing themselves.

Don't worry Starmer had already sorted this out ahead of winning the election and we all know how he keeps his promises!

"This rise will be devastating to people across the country.
Labour has a fully costed plan to freeze energy bills, meaning people won’t pay a penny more this winter."

Sod all. I dont think any of these petitions have ever achieved anything? But it will be a lovely bit of embarrassment for the duplicitous twat! PMQs should be fun!

Its a fully costed plan for when he wins the election. He's always quite clear about his plans. A man of integrity...

He doesn't make any promises in that video though?

Oddly enough, prior to the headlines the winter fuel payment was not a topic I paid much attention to. However looking back now, I can't see anything in labour's campaign saying they would/wouldn't change it, but I freely admit I haven't looked very hard.

However, posting a video of someone in opposition giving the PM a hard time in PMQs isn't stellar evidence of broken promises to me. In fact if you just swap the characters over it could be a video from a couple of weeks ago :D

Well...the other option would be let the energy companies self regulate. Which I'm sure would work out much better for the consumer ;)

Or maybe government regulates the price themselves, but then, who would they blame. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Funny, isn’t it. A few weeks ago the country voted (overwhelmingly) for this lot. It’s a bit Brexit-like, except that was 52%, I think.

No we didn't. We voted overwhelmingly against the previous lot.
