Give a fucking rest.
I'd like to see the English rugby team watch the Haka then respond with a Morris dance. It's traditional, innit?
What's most annoying is their insistence that the haka is done immediately before kick off, no response allowed. It should at least be followed by the anthems.

Interesting historical fact- the first time an anthem was sung at an international sporting event was in 1905 at the Wales v New Zeland rugby match. After the haka the crowd began singing "Hen Wlad fy Nhadau" as a response. Wales went on to win (the first of only 3 wind against NZ)

My ISP is Vodafone. Every couple of weeks they send me an email inviting me to upgrade my broadband by taking a new 24 month contract for £35/month. I've just received their latest offer: "big savings to be made in our Black Friday event". A 24 month contract for just £35/month.

Black Friday is bollocks.

I use Amazon loads, they know what I like, they have a massive opportunity at this time of year to suck (!) me in using all that data to encourage me to spring for Christmas presents for family or (more likely) let others know that if they're that desperate to buy ME something it's on offer now at a steal.

But all I get is "Look! <productName> now 6% off!"

Fronch electricity supply. Maddening.

I dunno if just me or this happens to everybody and is just 'how it is'.
Part of the way our electricity supply is contracted is according to power capacity, you go over it and the main trip switch trips.

Our power capacity is supposedly sufficient for our needs: # of people; type of heating; insulation; electrical equipment likely to run concurrently.
Except it isn't. If the immersion is on (timed to go on twice a day in low-peak-cost, one of which is mid-afternoon) and you put literally anything else on with a high draw (washing mc, dishwasher, fecking toaster even) there is a really high chance that the trip will go.
This always happens during a fecking online meeting.

Yes, I've upped the power capacity - didn't see any noticeable difference, except I'm paying more for the privilege.

Here they call it "potentia", you set how much you need in kw. Most people find 3 to 5kw about right, I'm totally solar with a 5kw inverter so it doesn't bother me.

'we'll give you an off-peak period but it's only for show'.
That sounds like an ISP selling an unlimited contract and then slapping a 'fair usage' policy in the small print.

I know it's not really your point, but 12kW feels like a lot anyway :D

But then I suppose you do live down in a semi-restored old shed?

That reminds me how Angela Rippon boils my piss. In the electricity ad she tells us she does her gardening off-peak. Considering off-peak is between 11pm and 6am, she's either doing it in the dark or annoying her neighbours with the lawn mower and hedge trimmers at 5am.

Oh it's a fully restored old shed, it's just not a fully insulated old shed.
I'm freezing cold AND annoyed by the electrical system's inability to run three things concurrently. Being annoyed only has a marginal additional impact on my warmth.

I'm going out soon anyway - it's always warmer outside.

That has been considered. :D
I also wonder whether somehow my usage is impacted by every elses

A quick Google says that's 9.6kw. Wifey managed to trip our 5kw system a couple of weeks ago, the microwave was on, the air fryer was on and she switched the kettle on which upset things. With your amount she could have put the kettle and the washing machine on. I don't have enough stuff to draw 9.6kw if it was all on at the same time.

EE saying 'Roaming is getting better with EE' when in reality it appears they're planning on charging me a minimum of £2.49 a day.

I'm with o2, the only people who still do free roaming... in Europe.

I recently went to Marrakesh, not covered.

I bought an eSim for £12 which gave me 3gb of data.

I knew that if I made or received any calls I would be charged quite a bit, but thought that it only mattered if the call was connected, so I let the o2 sim roam just in case.

Anyway, I had four calls. All spam, I didn't answer any of them. O2 still charged me £2 for each one. £8 just for leaving my phone on!!!

Tbf, I just called them and have saved money on both my broadband and my current mobile plan(s) by switching to a new all-you-can-eat data, plus EU roaming, for £16 a month 😎 so I'll take that 👍

kVA to kW isn't quite that simple but I don't know why DefTrap has been told it as it's irrelevant for any meters and trips in his posh shed.
Seems like gas companies here measuring in cubic metres and then using some seemingly random calorific value to charge us in kWh.
12kW doesn't seem much to me, even the most basic electric shower draws 8kW so it wouldn't take much else to tip it over the edge.

'Taint 'random'. It varies and is a monitored known at a range of points (and issued daily by National Grid) so your bill should reflect what you've been supplied with. OK, it's not going to be to the cubic centimetre and some companies are going to have crap billing systems and may use an average figure (40MJ/m³) instead of the supplied figures but they really should be charging you for the energy they supplied as near as poss.
