What about the Friday rock show with Tommy Vance. Listening in bed as a youngun. 👦
He did a connection thing, 3 songs with a link I think.

Good old days they were. 😍👍

Top 40, Sunday night...trying to take the pause button off the tape recorder without getting any DJ talk on the C60 to listen to during the week. Them's was the days.

70 years after it first wowed and terrified audiences, Nigel Kneale’s The Quatermass Experiment ... is finally brought back to life
Finally?

https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0450315/
The Quatermass Experiment
TV Movie
2005

Broadcast live from Longcross Studios in Surrey.
I think they are referring to returning to Ally Pally where it was first broadcast from originally and using/doing it as a radio play not an acted piece. So it should be fairly close to what my dad listened to 70 years ago. I love radio plays and so does dad so hopefully it'll be good.

A mate was in the tv version (as above)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Greg-Bennett/e ... scns_share

Very good writer/author:
- 'hidden extra' books chronicle some of his exploits as an extra
- his fiction is very good, Trinity's Wake is very good (it's a follow-on to previous 'Tulliver' books)
Even bland can be a type of character

The Ally Pally event was fantastic, if long! Managed to catch the 2nd from last train but it was tight. Worth it though.

Cor, is a long time since anyone has been in here!

Yesterday one of Isabella's regular little gang of theatre goers dropped out which meant a spare ticket for Mrs Doutbtfire- usually I'd run a mile and rather stick wasps up my arse too than sit through a musical, but this one was supposedly a comedy and has had rave reviews, and they were good seats so I thought why not.
And am very glad I did, absolutely top entertainment, lots of laughs from some very talented actors, and I even enjoyed the singing- highly recommended and a 9/10 from me

The House and Garage Orchestra, 13 Dec.

https://thgo.co.uk/

Summary: get all the H&G artists who had hits in the last 25 years, get 'em to sing their best-known couple of songs with a full orchestra backing, take a bow, repeat ad-infinitum.

Over the next few weeks I've got:

The Cult
Jimmy Eat World
The Prodigy (I've seen them so many times I've lost count, and I will continue to go and see them till the end of time)

Next year, so far:

War of the Worlds
Bowling For Soup
Skunk Anansie

The lead singer Steve Ignorant is the only original member, he was a fair bit younger than some of the other original members. I doubt the original drummer, Penny Rimbaud could still have done what this dude did on drums he was an absolute animal.
I did notice they strategically mixed in songs with female led vocals to give Steve a rest but he did a fantastic job of belting out the songs and did comment that playing 1 crass song takes the same effort as a whole oasis album. Top night.

No pics but mega gig. Therapy? Are consistently good, unfortunately the sound mix wasn't ideal at the start but soon sorted. Loved hearing Troublegum in full plus some of the other old classics Potato Junkie, Teethgrinder etc. Shepherd's Bush was packed so didn't catch up with a work mate who was there, but he had Bill Bailey moshing next to him  was worried I'd have to miss the end to make the train but they finished before half 10 so got to see the lot, perfect.

I’m seeing Paul Heaton at the beginning of next month with his new support.

Just booked tickets to see Chris McCausland in March 2026 which was a slight error on my part as I thought it was next year…
