Nerdy MotoGP fuel tank post
Gresini shared various bits of footage of them 'delivering' Marquez to the Factory Ducati garage after the race on Sunday.
Noticed these three Ducati fuel tanks in one of the clips. They seem to be three different configurations, thought it was mildly interesting.

Pecco made reference to the fact that Ducati have different fuel tanks for the Sprint and the GP. Perhaps they have one for practice/qually as well...

Gone are the days of foam filled tanks to stop fuel slosh.
I'd imagine there's baffles and foam in there and all sorts of bits of clever tech

ATL are the market leaders AFAIK, note how they sell "baffle foam". Located here in MK as it 'appens. One of their senior tech guys is someone I went to Uni with - not spoken to him in years mind

Car tanks tend to be quite regular in shape, whereas as you can see the underseat section, tank proper and various shaped sections would make fitting a bag quite possibly impractical as these bikes are on the limit of fuel endurance for race distance, so need every bit of space they can muster in their tanks.
The other difference is, imo, that when a car crashes, the driver is strapped securely inside the vehicle, not good if it goes woof, whereas a bike and rider usually go their separate ways in a crash, possibly reducing the fire hazard measures a smidge!
