Mrs Taipan went out for an Indian with her mates tonight. She bought me home 2 bhajis and half her naan. True love! :D

Randomly went into the corridor (needed a photo with a white background ) and whilst balancing a light and the phone on a radiator, I realised that the radiator is on!!

So, back to my apartment and I've twisted the controls on the two rads from zero to a bit!! With almost no one living in the building in the inter season, it does get a bit chilly, so I'm hoping the rads in the apartment actually work!! LOL (I usually leave them off all winter cos everyone else has theirs on full blast  )

Here's hoping for a bit more warmth by tomorrow!! LOL

Being called in to HR to be questioned as a witness and listening to the ludicrous questions….

Have you ever witnessed the boss being referred to as cunt by any member of staff :wtf:

Have you ever heard anyone refer to the sub boss as Gollum ? :P

He loves me too,

I can’t wait to get the transcript, it was comedy gold apart from one serious allegation dark, that prim HR bod is going to have to say cunt in front of about a dozen of us.

Monday morning all staff rah-rah call. Enlivened by HR lady describing something as the 'money shot'. No-one else was talking, but you could hear the surprised silence.

To this day, I don't know whether she knew. Because if she did, I'm surprised she'd say it in front of 300 people.

Woah. HR want second hand confirmation about what may or may not have been said about bosses? I think the epithets may be more appropriate for HR.

PS Gollum.

That's half the fun though right, sneaking "did he really say that?" comments into serious conversation.

Place I worked we used to have open evenings. It was all hi-tech, TV and film effects electronics stuff, design, manufacture, etc. Loads of demos

Doing demos we usually had a team challenge. Once it was to mention mid-demo, as many items of a full English breakfast. Another time we all had an ear out for one guy's talk, listening for four particularly words we knew he'd say (usually actually generally basically) and cheering when he said them. He wasn't in on it :)

There was a helpdesk for a CAD company I used to visit where they had the word of the day on a whiteboard and the one who could work it into a call took the pot they had all put a fiver in.
Eg. Ravi Shankar the network guru was one that sticks in my memory

Very very occasionally 'hidden' text made it onto a printed circuit board as extra copper :)

Worked in one place where it was an HR issue if you hadn't called the boss a cunt within any given 6 months...

(And HR was the bosses wife....)

Youngest daughter had a shift at her new-ish (3 and a bit weeks?) job today - just her and one other working today who'd set out, in the staff-room, a birthday banner, helium balloon, present and a card that had been signed by everyone who works there (some of which my daughter's not even met).

Lovely people. Brought a tear.

Some of my friends have arrived back in resort after an 8 week trip around Vietnam, Thailand and other places there!

They are fab and like to try out new menus for their chalet on their friends!! And today they invited me and another couple for Sunday lunch followed by a leisurely walk!

What an awesome lunch with awesome friends. Loads of laughs, great food. The other couple brought a bottle of bubbly to celebrate my almost finishing my course! I took some mini treacle tarts and also some fruit to make a compote to go with the panacotta she's made for dessert!!

Between the food, wine, bubbly, port and laughs, we didn't make it for a walk (kinda good for me cos the FUF struck on the walk down!). But the very best of sundays for sure!!
