Trying to get all the stuff in the greater proportion of the house into the smaller portion so the new floor tiles can be laid. That's the kitchen, utility room, front porch and living area into three other rooms that are also in use.

A couple of B52s just flew over en route to Fairford.
Surprisingly quiet for 8 engines and no con trails, obviously euro5

Reading about the Booker Prize winner this year. Orbital by Samantha Harvey. Hmmm. Looking for something to read.
Went to one review site and found this:
I haven’t read it yet, but it sounds interesting.
Was this review helpful to you?
No, it fucking well wasn't.

4 F22s have just headed into Fairford.
About twice as loud as the B52s, guess if you can hear one in combat you're already dead!

I was gonna say it was because they're refitting them with Rolls Royce engines... but it's not happened yet, they're still in testing.Sadlonelygit wrote: ↑Wed Nov 13, 2024 12:53 pm A couple of B52s just flew over en route to Fairford.

Sitting in the sunshine trying to warm up!!!
It was 11 degrees in my apartment this morning. I had decided last night not to sleep with the window open but forgot to turn on the (miniature) radiator
So I’ve been out a couple of times to get stuff and walk to warm up. Now the suns over the mountain, sitting in the sunshine is definitely lovely!

Re: A right now thread
Today I am 14 days into growing some face fuzz. Can I have minuted that:
Mrs. Gremlin hates it.
It has been mocked for it's slow growth.
It's fecking itchy.
It's worryingly grey, which contrasts with my surprisingly not grey head hair.
It seems to be growing in every direction, like I'm touching one of those electrostatic balls.
My dreams of looking distinguished are being slowly replaced with the reality of looking more homeless.
I have 16 days of No-Shave, No-vember to go.

Re: A right now thread
You both made me laugh! My favourite instructor sometimes wears a cardi, but not a button up one! Sent a group photo to a mate including him and she instantly said - nope, can’t fancy a man wearing a cardi
I think she’s about ten years younger than me - she’ll work it out when she’s older

Re: A right now thread
Sitting at home grinning like a loon (and trying to warm up my feet!)
Just been to the GP and he's re-written a prescription for blood tests so that I don't have to hitch hike to the lab in the valley!! (The other doc is a city dweller and probably has no concept of lack of transport when living in a ski resort - and I didn't knowthat she has to write something on the prescription so I can get them done at home!)
Then talked about a prescription the other doc (so called specialist, but France is behind the times!) wouldn't write for me. He's added a blood test to confirm levels and is going to do some research on what I want. With his research and mine, I reckon he might just do the prescription - which would be FREAKING AWESOME!! (Not reimbursable, but one box should last the year and if it does what I hope, it'll be worth ten times the price to get my brain back!!)
Only downside is that we have to take our shoes off to go in. And I was waiting about an hour and a half Luckily I sat in a chair with my back to a warm radiator, but my feet feel like blocks of ice!! LOL
Don't care, My GP ROCKS!!!!

Re: A right now thread
You know when there's something you just haven't really done (in about 35 years) and there's a possibility that you might, but there's just no one to really talk to about it and it's challenging when you put language and cultural differences into the mix!!
Anyway - off to send a text that may or may not kybosh something
Ok, I did chat with a girl friend this afternoon - hence the text. But damn, some things in life are a bit complicated for this girl of little relationship maturity!!
