Did somebody fill in the English Channel? I was under the impression that Ireland was the only country that shared a land border with the UK.

All those Hindu, Sikh and Jewish grooming gangs preying on young, vulnerable, predominantly white girls are definitely a problem.

You must have been living under a rock for the last several years.
Most paedophiles in this country are white "christians", the Archbishop of Canterbury has just had to resign over another scandal involving an abuser in the church. Hindus and Sikhs trat women very differently and some are even forced into marriage. Hassidic Jews treat women very poorly.
Do they? All of them? Surprised at you for such a hateful, sweeping generalisation!
Okay let me rephrase it, women generally have less rights in Hasidic Jewish tradition than in modern western society, very much like Muslim women in more fundamentalist Muslim groups.

Ok let me rephrase that

I had no idea about this recent spate of boats bringing lots of men of the age to start wars.

I was aware boats exist and people have used them to get to here, although I wasn't honestly aware it was still a thing.
When you look at Gov stats you can see why people term them illegal migrants men of military age.
Gov.uk wrote:3.3 Nationalities and demographics of arrivals
Overall, males represented 87% of small boat arrivals in the year ending June 2023. This proportion is similar to the proportion of males each year from 2018 to 2021.

Since January 2018, 75% of small boat arrivals have been adult males aged 18 and over. Around one-sixth (17%) have been children aged 17 and under (see table Irr_02c).
https://www.gov.uk/government/statistic ... -june-2023
If you think about the war in Ukraine and how people opened up their homes to thousands of Ukranian women and children that we all saw arriving, it does beg the question why are the boats mainly full of young men? Did they all just up and fuck off leaving the women, kids and elderly behind to deal with the war? :wtf:

For me, I suspect they are economic migrants and to be honest I don't blame them for coming when you weigh up where they came from to what they'll get here. This is where resentment arises as we have a homelessness problem here with UK residents living on the streets and begging or eating from charities. How is it right that illegal migrants who have contributed nothing are treated far better than indigenous people?

This. All. Day. Long.

The very obvious truth is that if you did a stock-take of known paedos, the overwhelming majority by some considerable fecking distance is good old born-and-bred-here whitey. To attempt to foist this problem onto other cultures in an attempt to bolster your rationale for keeping them out is pretty fecking cruel for all the migrants who've made the UK their home, and now have to deal with idiots who genuinely believe they're all sex pests because Twitter told them so.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-65174096

The Home Office commissioned a study of the available data in 2020, external. It said:

"The academic literature highlights significant limitations to what can be said about links between ethnicity and this form of offending."

"Research has found that group-based child sexual exploitation offenders are most commonly white."

"Some studies suggest an over-representation of Black and Asian offenders relative to the demographics of national populations."

It found there was limited research on offender identity and poor quality data, which made it difficult to draw conclusions, however "it is likely that no one community or culture is uniquely predisposed to offending".

A previous piece of research from 2015 found that of 1,231 perpetrators of "group and gang-based child sexual exploitation", 42% were white, 14% were defined as Asian or Asian British and 17% black.

Some of them will definitely be "economic migrants" but some will be coming here because they are fleeing persecution like in Afghanistan and Iran, some of them will be trying to join family members already here (some of those here will be women and girls) and some of them come her first trying to secure a safe passage for the women and girls they had to leave behind. It is also important to understand that we opened a safe route for Ukrainians which does not exist for most people fleeing Middle Eastern war zones, they have to get here to claim asylum.

And travel through 2 or more 'safe' countries to get here, not to mention shelling out a small fortune to the smuggling gangs.
If I feared for my life in Iran/Iraq/Afghanistan I would be happy to try France/Italy/Germany for asylum. Perhaps the economic attraction of the UK is there prime reason for insisting on the Channel crossing. If so the answer is obvious

Or they have connections here or speak the language. Also most people coming to Europe do apply for asylum in the EU rather than come here.

This is part of the issue. Most people do speak English, or more English than any other non native language. So it does make sense that they would try to reach somewhere that speaks English predominantly

Which, I seem to recall someone saying a few posts back, is one of the primary pre-requisites - so presumably other countries feel the same?

When your house is being bombed I imagine learning a selection of foreign languages fluently runs really highly on your list of priorities.

Having just returned from Marrakesh the argument has to be, which PTW is the best, Docker C50 Super Club or Yamaha 'Mate' 50.

Both together make up at least 50% of all city traffic.

But are they doing 30mph through a heavily pedestrianised Souk down a cobbled alley barely wide enough to fit two people side by side :)

I found the webshite for Docker.

https://docker.ma/product/cyclomoteurs/cub/c50-new-rim/

The C50 'New Rim' was by far the most popular model on the roads. In the Souks the Yamaha 'Mate' was the bike to have.

80+% of the population is white. White people are under-represented by about half.

There's good and bad in all ethnic groups, but implying that whitey is the problem when he is a smaller part of the problem than others is not helpful (or honest).
