My vegan brother-in-law and his wife were here last week, they arrived on the Thursday then departed for the seaside on Saturday with wifey and her sister in tow to celebrate his 60th birthday. As much as I enjoy a teetotal vegan knees up I declined the offer, which was fortunate as I was invited to friends for roast pork with beer and wine to drink.

Watching Moto GP.
The cat is sound asleep beside me and I’m tempted to poke him awake to make up for the little s**t waking me up through the night every night. See how he likes it.

Re: A right now thread
Sitting in an hotel reception messing about on the internet! And doing some stuff I should have done last week but was a bit over stressed!! LOL
I had a mad moment when I thought I'd left my book of notes at home - disaster. But I just found it, so will stop messing online soon and get to some revision!!
(The tables in reception are way bigger than the little corner-space desk in the room! LOL)

Stuck at Sevilla airport
Barcelona airport is under water and the plane was coming from there.
30 flights canceled here today.
Just been given a meal voucher. Need to go back later for more info.

A 16 minute wait, that's terrible. There should be laws against torments like this.

Re: A right now thread
The bad news is the rescheduled flight is Thursday.
The good news is that we're getting 3 nights in a hotel with free food and drink

Valencia and Barcelona has touched us all here.
Nobody is expecting the airlines to do anything special.
The insurance will be paying for this. I'd much rather go home.
I'm not playing down the tragedies.

Didn't quite work out as well as the rep told us. Translation maybe.
I've bitten the bullet and got lucky. There's a direct flight home tonight and Pen's booked me on that. Rare direct flights
Had to pay as Vueling wouldn't let me transfer my existing flight to Gran Canaria
I'll be home this evening

Sat in an Irish bar... In Marrakesh.
I've had the most crazy taxi ride ever, I've never filtered in a Renault before. Almost been run over a dozen times, on pedestrian crossings. Seen a million cats, the first two outside the airport.
I've only been here two hours.

I've just hauled myself out of bed and made it to the settee, thanks to a particularly shitty cold that meant I couldn't sleep.
The cold hasn't floored me, but the lack of sleep did.
Will log on to check work briefly shortly, then resume my rotting position here.

Yeah yeah!! But I couldn't live in that heat all the time! Downside is that I've done so little riding in the last few years, I don't have the right kit for autumnal weather here!!

Re: A right now thread
Currently sitting in a boulangerie having stopped halfway from Aix les Bains to Bourg cos I couldn’t feel my hands anymore!! A restorative coffee and a dodgy bit of something vaguely like pizza that wasn’t as hot as I needed it to be and I few half human again (pretty normal TBF!!)
I do so very much need to invest in good cold weather gear and the first is winter gloves!! I’ve always avoided them as I have little hands and short fingers so gloves are a bastard to find. But for winter riding - it’s a must !
Setting off again in a mo - but the sun is up over the mountains now and the mist has lifted. Should be quite nice!
