A Korean War era military footlocker. Just two weeks ago I watched YT vid of two gals resotring their dads one. Today I stopped by an antique store that just opened & they had one just like it sitting there. $30. Sold!
Inner lift-out tray is missing, but that's a piece of piss to make.
Needs sanding/stripping & the veneer is cracked/lifted in multiple places, but that's another easy fix.

"New" Honda Shitvic for Mrs D.

The old one is still roadworthy but it's get an ever growing list of niggles/problems. It's had a weird "is it actually there?" noise (I think) coming from the gearbox for a while and yesterday it wouldn't go into the odd numbered gears. Also has clunky suspension, no AC, intermittent instrument back lights and an ABS fault which occasionally pops up.

Anyway...spotted a 2 owner, 80k replacement this morning 5 miles away. Basically the same car but everything works and it doesn't smell of wet dog. We don't even have a dog.

So I bought it

I've always bought Wahl, I mean why wouldn't I they're what every barber in the land use, but these are 1 million percent better than anything Wahl has dumped on the consumer market trading off their name.

I bought a mains powered Wahl clipper 30 years ago and it's still going strong. About 5 years ago I bought a rechargeable Wahl and, while it's OK, it's pretty flimsy compared with the old one. Still pretty happy with both though.

(The rechargeable was a fraction of the full price for that Babyliss though....£120! ).

Yeah, the ad I saw was £80 reduced from £120. Probably another of those things that never actually appear on sale at the 'full price'.

Q? Is the rechargeable battery replaceable? I was pleased to see that something I bought recently (it's 'American' ie they're a US company but it's not made there) has an easily replaced rechargeable battery rather than a sealed 'chuck it when the battery goes' body.

Last time this was on offer, the info was shared on an expat FB page and I think Lidl sold out in about 48 hours throughout the country!!

It's that time of year that Waitrose do their 20% discount on any six bottles of wine. Hence it's time for Mrs. G to drag her sister into Waitrose to buy a shed load of wine and get extra discount by using the Partner Card. Let's just say it makes the wine very good value indeed.

And the 12 bottles of franciacorta we ordered from the importer just turned up as well. The wine chillers are looking rather healthy at present.
