What's your pet hate(s(?

Post by Horse »

People who park at night facing towards you on the left side of the road. But leave their headlamps on, dazzling you.

Pavement parking. Made illegal up here but no fucker wants to police it. Think Edinburgh is the only place that the traffic wardens cover pavement parking. We have folk do it here if there is a space across the road or even a few yards further up the street.

Along our road, there used to be grass strips between the road and pavement. Council surfaced them for parking.

Now, umpteen fuckers let trees and hedges take up to a third of the pavement width

We get that, a lot. Two in this street seem to get away with it as its a so called bee garden however we have a small lane in the next street what is a short cut to the main park then town centre. One person on one side of the lane left the hedge grow that long you had no choice but to brush into it. One day i was passing it had been raining and i was pissed off as i got wet. Phoned the council to kick up a stink and it was cut back within two days. Result

You're not supposed/allowed to let your Bush stick out into the road/path are you? ( ). The council will warn you and then blitz it away, happened to my parents old neighbours at their old house. Which is going back a bit, now I think on it!

"Pretentious? Moi?"

Mind you, I would say that my only flaw is my extreme modesty. And I'll tell anyone that.

Heights. It's a horrible fear. Often when I follow the enduro lads up the volcanoes and mountains, the paths are narrow and huge vertical drops.
I've started to find a different route. I almost stop with the fear.

That's not a pet hate, that's completely rational.

Life's too short to hate, you are the only one who feels it the object of your hate just blithely carries on unaware of your angst.
I try to stay calm, and fail usually

If it's glass then it's not a chopping board.

Why can't they just stop being contradictory.

People who put apostrophes in the term KPIs.

Other dodgy apostrophe usage is of course available, nay plentiful, but in my line of work I see that particular one far too much.

People who are incapable of turning off their fog lights. Or think they are necessary even when they can see the lights of the car behind them!! FFS, if you can see my lights, I can see yours. You don't need to blind me! And you REALLY don't need to keep them on once you've passed out of the misty area that runs alongside the river!!

I'm sure there are others if I really think about it, but that is a very often encountered one and it really does BMP!! Or is this the wrong thread?!!
