Post by weeksy »

I'm an arty farty type - I've posted pictures I've painted - but when it comes to the symbolism in Old Masters paintings, or interpretation of abstract sculptures ...

The meeting up at biker cafes and riding in large groups. Sounds like hell.

It (hopefully) obviously goes without saying that Art is highly personal and only some of it 'connects' with people.

Media like painting and sculpture essentially don't land with me, beyond "that looks nice". Music on the other hand really does connect with me, there is music out there that actually makes me feel something, beyond the obvious links with my own memory of where I heard it. I feel like I have a sense of what the musician felt like when they produced it, or what they're trying to say.

So while I don't really "get" visual arts, I get why other people get it :D

I book an organised tour to Italy once. Eight bikes, 12 people and TBH it was not to bad. We all had identical maps and destinations marked up for the 10 days. You could ride with the group or go your own way. As long as you make the next stop before dinner. It worked out well with no drama apart from my RR burned out as i was rolling onto the ferry home. Thank got for AA 5star as Portsmouth to Edinburgh was a tad far to push the bike home.

Pretty much all ball sports, snooker/billiards etc being an exception.
Blokes being obsessed with barbecues.
A lot of conceptual art.
Dancing, probably because of my general gracelessness. It's bad enough hears one's own voice, watching yourself move is even worse IMO.

Riding the same roads each week. And, sometimes, crashing on bends they've been around umpteen times.

Alton towards Basingstoke riders, looking at you.

Boxing. Who wants to watch two humans battering each other? Maybe if it was about skill and grace rather just lumping each other hoping to cause injury it wouldn't be so bad.

Jazz for sure.

Ironically the easiest form of music to play, just hit any old notes with sufficient confidence and you can get away with it

Even after all these years. I don't get the wimminz. :(

That's not a late life admission of the ghey,or anything, just an acknowledgement of the random unpredictability that is ever present in wimminz of the female kind.
