Thank you. Screwdriver is a character, an alter ego I play up to but there is a human being here too.
The problem with text is there is no emotion, no comic timing. IRL much if not all of my darkest opinions are actually presented in exasperated good humour. Cross between Dave Allen and Bill Burr (albeit without the comic genius of either)

This is the only reason you're not banned. I don't think you're a bad person and deliberately fucking up this place.Screwdriver wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 11:14 pm Thank you. Screwdriver is a character, an alter ego I play up to but there is a human being here too.

How strong do you like your tea, personally the spoon should be just short of standing up in it. I cannot stand tea that has been made with minimal brewing or “Lesser Lancashire” Tea and as for Earl Grey……….
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."

That's an interesting comment reference 'alter ego '.weeksy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 8:09 amThis is the only reason you're not banned. For me, I'm no different when posting or commenting on rttl than I am in person. Possibly even more reserved as I've never been a keyboard warrior.
I wonder what others on the forum think? Are they 'themselves' or an 'alter ego?'

I used to be a far more mouthy wanker, I thought I was funny, others may disagree.
But I changed as I had the boy and became an actual adult, mellowed and what you see now is the person I am.
At times I do say things in my head I wouldn't put on here, or say out loud though

I don't think the difference between online self and real self remained that relevant post about 2010
This forum is massively skewed in demographic (no not you demo). Who here isnt a >50 straight white man? It's not everyone I know, but it's most.
In fact you could probably replace 50 with 60

If you go around saying/writing stuff on forums that you wouldn't say face to face to the same person, you need to have a word with yourself.
There is no cloud, just somebody else's computer.

But she got less posh as she got older. I reckon if she'd lived another 20 years or so she'd have been a Cockney.

Tea: a 5 or 6 for me. Strong enough to taste the tea but not so strong that all you can taste is tannin.MingtheMerciless wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 9:54 am How strong do you like your tea, personally the spoon should be just short of standing up in it. As for Earl Grey, whoever thought it would be a good idea to put aftershave in tea should be shot.

Not many people in real life will stand still long, listening to me talk about piston ring gaps.mangocrazy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 10:46 am If you go around saying/writing stuff on forums that you wouldn't say face to face to the same person, you need to have a word with yourself.
