I'll take a chance and give you 5€ for it.
€130 all day long. I can't see MotoGP giving refunds so they'll make it valid for Philip Island or some such nonsense.
Rather than give me tickets for the race somewhere else, they can give my refund to the people here that have nothing now-they need it more than me.
I've just had an email from MotoGP saying they're working on options for my ticket. If there's a charity option I'll donate it.

Its why I wondered about donating any refund

Was reading this earlier - almost can't believe the enormity of the damage.

Last Friday I rode up to check out where the AirB&B I've rented for the Saturday night is. I rode through Utiel on my way back home.

Can't recognise the flood photos I have seen of the town over the last few days. To see such a disaster an hour away, and not thousands of miles away as usual, really bought it home.

I haven't really paid this a load of attention, but by christ those pics are devastating!! I had no idea the destruction was on such a scale. Where the hell do you start sorting that out?

Apparently it's move to Barcelona for the same weekend.

That's another one where Pecco binned it in the sprint and won on the Sunday, but it's a track where both protagonists go well at. Jorge needs to keep it shiny side up.

It's a different venue, but it's still Spain and it's only just over 200 miles up the coast from Valencia. I'm not sure it's the most well-considered choice of venue. The correct choice (IMHO) would have been to cancel the event entirely, but commercial pressures (plus a title fight to decide) probably made that impossible.

Barcelona and large parts of Catalonia had a decent amount of rain today, the videos I've seen show a foot of water in the airport buildings and flooding on surrounding roads. I've no idea if this has affected the circuit or how widespread the flooding is.

It's affecting flights here in Sevilla.

It's so fucking wrong they're even thinking about running it at all in Spain. If they said "right, we're going to Sepang" then I'd get it, but to run it in Spain now would be morally wrong.

Cancel the event, give all the ticket money, sponsor money etc to the people affected and stop fucking about trying g to put an event on.

Just like this, the 3 biggest managers in Spanish club football say the football should have been cancelled and I'm totally in agreement

This ^^^

It's quite embarrassing watching Dorna trying to be all things to all men and 'keep the show on the road'. Cancel the event and give the cash to the homeless and dispossessed. I think Dorna will eventually do the right thing, but only after they've been forced into it.

If,as they have said,"we will not race at Valencia, but race for Valencia",then it could be a positive thing. If the last round becomes a fundraiser to help those in need, that would be great, but if their motivation is to finish the show no matter what, then what Weeksy said.

Yesterday there was 5 minutes of silence across Spain at noon. Barcelona is suffering flooding now, and the forecast is for more. And no doubt more lives will be lost.

But the more local news I see on TV, the more I see how much the flood has destroyed. Not the buildings and vehicles, but peoples lives.

Catalunya circuit is a 6 hours drive from me, but as Dorna are no doubt constantly assessing the weather situation here, as well as the publics view (see the reactions to the football going ahead as normal) I'm not sure if the last round will go ahead in Spain. If at all.

I imagine the irony of flying the whole circus off to Malaysia as a result of a pretty horrendous climate event in Spain would be lost on the business that runs the show. :(

So, yeah to the second option.

Am I being cynical suggesting hotel and flight prices might suddenly go up a bit?

If they gave the extra revenue to Valencia help funds, that would be cool.

Just received an email from the official MotoGP ticketing office, which included this information:

"Please note that your current Valencia tickets will not be valid for the Solidarity GP, or any other event".

So i've got to buy 4 tickets for Catalunya now, and fewer are available that were available for Valencia, which was sold out.

Been waiting 10 minutes on their site to find out what tickets sre available.

Did they happen to mention where the money you paid for your tickets will be going? In any sane world your Valencia tickets would automatically be rolled over for similar tickets to the Catalunya GP. Solidarity clearly only extends as far as Dorna's bank account.
