Re: EICMA 2024
I hope theyβve sorted that godawful seat out and a bigger tank would have been nice.
Might have a look when they hit the showroom.

Re: EICMA 2024
I'd also point out that pending power (not mentioned) it's the same weight but likely to be 30bhp short of a KTM 690.

Re: EICMA 2024
True, although the 2019 on 690 engines are pretty much bullet proof. Which considering their power output is impressive. The dashes though, not so much and who knows with the electrics. There were a bunch of 690s with over 40k miles on them when I last looked on the forum and one older style one that got to 90k before the rockers went.
The 790/890 however

Honda technical demonstrator...
Our engineers have reimagined the future of high-efficiency, high-output ICE with the new water-cooled V3 engine.
Featuring the worldβs first electrical compressor for motorcycles, it delivers high-response torque from lower rpm, compact design, fast response, and low weight. The future is here!

I know there's a few RE fans on here, what do you all think of the new Classic 650?
Myself I think it's a good looking bike but it weighs 240 KG

Re: EICMA 2024
Tech aside that looks more exciting than almost anything Honda have put out for some time. The frame's lovely.
As for the tech - if this makes it to production I'm going to refer to it as the 'Leaf Blower'.
Quite an interesting EICMA so far.

Re: EICMA 2024
They should have done a 'Classic' before the Inty and the GT, imho. Not that the others two were bad sellersBustaspoke wrote: βTue Nov 05, 2024 4:22 pm I know there's a few RE fans on here, what do you all think of the new Classic 650?

Re: EICMA 2024
More Crap than News has some extra deets on the Homda V3...
https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/202 ... /honda-v3/
I quite like the idea of a V3, I wonder how the character of a V3 compares to a IL3. There must be some advantage cos a V3 has to cost more to build from a materials POV?

It's a lovely render so I suspect some distance from even being a running prototype...KungFooBob wrote: βTue Nov 05, 2024 2:20 pm Leccy powered supercharger... I might fit some pc case fans to the airbox on my Gold Star!

OK, I take that back - I hadn't seen the video. I'm still doubtful it's going to be appearing any time soon. We'll see.
