Not saying this is the case, but wouldn't it be funny if the Trump side were found to have been tampering with votes. No-one would be able to convince anyone of it
I expect there will be claims of it. Hard to make that point with such a conclusive win though. The American people ahve spoken and spoken loudly!

He then shows up here and meets with Starmer who then pulls the rug on farmers and devalues farmland. Coincidence? Should be, but who knows? I'd guess the concerns are this is pointing towards a big real estate deal/swindle? The fly in that ointment is there are other billionaires buying up farmland as well...
But they've been buying up farmland (in the UK) in order to dodge death duties* so, while they may get chance to buy more, the reason for doing it has gone away. Gates was more likely to lobby against the change.

I'm sure their accountants will find a way though...maybe we'll see 'Farming Trusts' set up or solar farms springing up on arable land etc.

The old adage 'buy land, they aren't making it any more' probably still applies too.

* subsidies were quite a thing too, especially with the bizarre arrangement where you could get a subsidy for NOT farming the land. :eh:

I could have voted if I'd decided to go along with any of the three illegal attempts to sign me up for voter registration.
Me: "I'm not allowed to vote"
Election worker: "They changed the rules, you can"

I wonder how many they signed up just in LA County...
Yep. I bet they saw that pick-up truck and the bikes and said 'Definitely a Democrat, get him signed up!'.

They’re not ready for one quite that bad at debate and public speech?

Seems likely that the incumbent was being blamed for the 1920-onward economic shit.

Still 4 short with 7 results to go....

(Having a victory party already though - of course - and the 'body language' from the Democrats isn't very positive. Maybe they're on the phones saying 'surely you can find another x00 votes' :) ).

That was the plan yes and there is plenty of evidence they tried the same tactic as last time. This time the Republican party were ready and had a live, real time mechanism - X, to make sure such shenanigan's wouldn't work. They had teams of lawyers and a speed dial to the local judiciary to enforce the law whenever dirty tricks appeared.

Right now the deep state will be considering their options for nudging the count back in their favour but it does look like this landslide is "too big to rig". Time will tell since there are still places claiming it could take weeks to manipulate the count, err, I mean confirm the result.

Unlike last time however, they will not have the authority to reject any investigations into fraudulent behaviour. It would take a brave person to tamper with the election results when the most likely outcome for them would be a one way ticket to jail.

It's not all unicorns and rainbows though, the deep state have two months left to wreak havoc on the US economy and there is still the issue of their lit. army of supporters who might wreak havoc just because...

I think it is more the case that being "of colour" and female is not sufficient qualification by itself to be a President.

What else does Kamala have? Oh yeah, she is not Trump. Surely that's enough?

Gonna have to say no to that, thank fuck.

Lucky for the U.S., they can count on Trump to do that.

I'm tempted to see if I can get a bet on President Vance fighting the next election after Trump suffers an 'untimely demise'.

Oh, I note that AP haven't called it yet.
