What brand would you bring back?
Thinking about all the old brands that are being resurrected, most often by far east manufacturers, and the constant struggles by Norton to stay relevant (and honest!), and the success that Indian seems to have had: what neglected brand/ model from motorcycle history would you bring back to the modern market?

The maker was P&M (Phelon and Moore) and Panther was a 'marque' but they seemed to more or less become the Panther company.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 7:59 pm Panther.

I had a second hand 1963 Panther 120, 645cc when I was still at school. Can't be many singles that need two exhausts

Re: What brand would you bring back?
The pre-war J.A.P singles often had 2 ports. The thinking was that freer-flow helped, but my Dad always said that his HRD-Vincent ran much better with 1 exhaust manifold.Count Steer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 8:31 pmThe maker was P&M (Phelon and Moore) and Panther was a 'marque' but they seemed to more or less become the Panther company.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 7:59 pm Panther.

E.M.C. I'd like to see Dr. Joe become better known. I used to have a picture of his Rotax engined racer on my wall when I was a youth.

Velocette. Not quite convinced the fishtail would suit today, but I am open to be persuaded.

Oh, you didn't mean THAT kind of brand?

MV Agusta as hand built stunning bikes instead of the machine built things they sell now.

Pro-Tek
Innovative, protective, clothing.
Unfortunately, making a superb waterproof and warm suit when we subsequently had three warmer winters didn't help sales and profitability. IIRC they went bust.

I was going to say Bimota but searched and they are still making bikes - of sorts, anyway.

I'd like to see Vincent make a comeback, although I doubt that a modern aircooled V twin would pass Euro 5

If we could bring back Vacansoleil and I can have my old job back in Bidart.
That would be far preferable to working for Eurocamp next summer !

Ducati seem to manage it with their Scrambler range. I'd quite like to see a modern V4 2 stroke, liquid cooled with fuel injection though ...Bustaspoke wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 9:39 am I'd like to see Vincent make a comeback, although I doubt that a modern aircooled V twin would pass Euro 5
