You'd think they'd create an eco version of the vape and make a killing - like from something you can grow and is 100% biodegradable.

Something isn't right about this, the police seemed a bit desperate to get that out there. He probably is what they say but it doesn't explain why an unarmed man boxed in by police cars was killed. That's what protestors are asking and I think it's a fair point, was he only a danger to coppers because they knowingly created that situation?

More common sense.

It's hard to imagine what a rape victim is going through, but to have to deal with a bloke in a frock just isn't worth thinking about.
How can folk be so stupid to let this situation arise?

Well, they definitely knowingly created that situation by stopping his car.

Subsequently, though:
After being boxed in by police cars during the stop, he drove backwards and forwards trying to ram his way free
While surrounded by police on foot.

I've not seen the circumstances of the stop explained, why several armed police wanted that particular vehicle stopped, or whether they knew who was driving. But you tend not to get that level of intervention for a blown taillight.

Couple of points to add to the mix:

He wasn't carrying a firearm, but used his 2-tonne car to threaten the lives of the officers involved in the stop. The footage showed the car being driven backward and forward aggressively, one of the coppers having to jump on a parked car to avoid being crushed. Kaba was shouted at to stop and get out of the car a number of times and had every opportunity to do so.

Two of the officers gave evidence that they would have taken the shot had the first copper not done so. This isn't a case of all the other coppers looking at each other and giving a 'WTF did he do that for?' look.

Bear in mind they had no idea who was driving the car, only that it had been involved in a shooting incident the previous day. That sort of intelligence would, I imagine, lead to a situation whereby you wouldn't expect the driver to pull over nicely and produce his documents. More likely a chance of 'Gunfight at the South London Corall'. Hard stop and nowhere to go is the safest option, I reckon (albeit not for Kaba when he decided to play bumper cars).

Whereas I wouldn't gloat over somebody dying, it does seem to be a case of 'live by the sword...'.

I suspect modern day sensitivities will preclude him from being shortlisted for the Darwin Award this year.

Too late. From Yorick's link:

It was revealed that he was the alleged gunman in a nightclub shooting six days before his death and had been issued with a 28-day domestic violence protection order which barred him from contacting the mother of his unborn child.

And not to mention the gunshot residue on his sleeve and the balaclava in his pocket.

Love the fact that the family kept emphasising the 'father-to-be' cliché, notwithstanding his DVPO. Sounds like a lovely fella.

The police and CPS obviously thought there was enough to convict the copper of murder, or they just threw him under the bus to get social media approval. When that failed they went for the next story they wanted to tell hoping it will appease the mob.
The gunman probably did need to shoot to protect his colleagues and probably was screwed over by other colleagues, but why did people enter the metal pen containing 2 tons of battering ram and create the need to shoot the driver?

Why were armed police involved and why do we have armed police anyway?

Surely a truncheon and whistle is all that's required.

Or, they went for a charge that was never going to stick. Murder? The individual charged had a pre-meditated intention to kill? Not a chance. If they'd gone for manslaughter, possibly.

It may well have been a 'show trial' in that respect. Something has been seen to be done.

There seems to be a view that the Met are trigger-happy assassins. According to one ex-gun carrying Met officer, the records show guns were discharged 4 times last year. I think he said the score was 0 dead perps, 1 officer shot dead. It's not exactly the Uniformed OK Corral out there.

After having a kidnapper/rapist/murderer in their ranks who even fellow officers dubbed "Tbe Rapist" it's possible the Met police are wanting to be seen as impartial.
