That's certainly how I'd feel if the JAPton got taken.....mangocrazy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 10:22 am If the LC was stolen I would hunt the thief(s) down and kill them, but probably not replace it.
But if it did disappear, I'd probably hunt down a decent Matchless G80 to go in it's place.

You want a nice BSA Gold Star, you're already familiar with the engine

Yep.
I had my 04 10R for 14 years purely because there was nothing for sale that I wanted more, otherwise I'd have bought it. So putting vast expense or exclusivity aside,if there's another bike you'd prefer over what you currently own, then you are tired of what you have.

If I've ever even seen one I didn't recognise it.

And another thing, when my Speed Triple was written off my immediate decision was to replace it with another Speed Triple, except in the 13 years since I had bought mine new Triumph dicked around so much with the design and ergos I hated the new model.

I'd sooner shove killer bees up my backside than piss about with selling a vehicle, I love the bike I have, makes me smile just walking in the garage, I'm slightly jaded towards modifying bikes at the mo so couldn't be arsed doing all of that work again.
If I could justify having 2 bikes I'd be keeping my current bike and getting the FTR as something completely different, but I don't want the FTR enough to get rid of what I have as it's the best bike for me.

I'd replace mine with another CB1000R, preferably a white one

Of the four I have, I'd only replace one bike with exactly the same one, and thats the 452 Himalayan. Absolutely love it.
The others would get replaced, but with what make and models I don't know. Although one would have to be another scooter for the sheer practicality of one

Of the 3 bikes I have at the minute I'd be more bothered about the Himalayan going and I'd get another one if it went.
The Guzzi or the Triumph would be replaced by another cheap Triumph triple

Re: Your bike is stolen, what are you replacing it with?
I plan to do a lot of long distance touring next year so a 1000≥, low enough seat height and a decent tank range - in that order.
Re: Your bike is stolen, what are you replacing it with?
If someone stole the Morini, I'd probably check to see if one of the other 14 owners in the country had nicked it for spares* & if not cry a bit before either buying back my old Centauro or getting a Griso.

Nothing - i did the grand sum of about 12miles this year!
Or, perhaps one of those new BSA things or a R-E, so I just polish it.
