Black Friday, what you got ?
Yeah, bike stuff... not random Amazon shite
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Arai-Rapide- ... 1438.l2649
Gearchange doing good discounts
Several KTM dealers are doing 25% of power wear and power parts too.
The Arai Rapide though is singing "press the button, press it now.... buy it ... buy it...."

Re: Black Friday, what you got ?
TBH - despite the Retail Armageddon going on, I haven’t found anything above and beyond “ a few quid off”
But I did buy a vacuum cleaner yesterday _ so that is the wife’s Christmas present sorted ....
I need a waterproof , breathable mountain bike jacket - but on the basis I will probably fall off and trash it on ten first day, I think I will be buying one from decathalon

I am on the hunt for a Gore R7 trail running Shakedry jacket, but it’s not coming down enough to warrant a purchase yet

Re: Black Friday, what you got ?
I'm in no position to criticise someone for buying something for how it looks, but, the new Arai Rapide is a bit weird in that they've got rid of the side pods, from memory the first helmet I saw with side pods was an Arai in about 1985, and I thought the side pods were cool.
Re: Black Friday, what you got ?
I did think about that lid to go with my yellow XSR900 that I haven't bought yet. But it just reminds me of lego for some reason...

Re: Black Friday, what you got ?
I absolutely love it... i think both the yellow one and the blue/multicoloured one is just superb, it's so much more glossy than the pics show.Julian_Boolean wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 11:52 am I'm in no position to criticise someone for buying something for how it looks, but, the new Arai Rapide is a bit weird in that they've got rid of the side pods, from memory the first helmet I saw with side pods was an Arai in about 1985, and I thought the side pods were cool.
I'm struggling to justify it though having bought a pair of Sportsmart TT along with booking Silverstone this week, not forgetting a new rear Monarch RC3 shock at the end of last week.

Re: Black Friday, what you got ?
I don't remember 1985 cause I was born in 1984 I obviously don't remember the 70s either. Thus I have no preconceptions or baggage around what is and isn't acceptable retro cool.Julian_Boolean wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 11:52 am I'm in no position to criticise someone for buying something for how it looks, but, the new Arai Rapide is a bit weird in that they've got rid of the side pods, from memory the first helmet I saw with side pods was an Arai in about 1985, and I thought the side pods were cool.

I was born in 1967, obviously I'm far to old to define what is cool and what is not.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 11:55 am

I was just commenting that I prefer helmets with side pods, I'm not sure about the ghastly colours but the shell is a nice shape, I could be tempted by a plain white one.
I had a plain black rapide like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-ARAI ... SwdINe-z73

Re: Black Friday, what you got ?
When the big tellies first came out, normal HD input didn't look good. But apparently the new ones upscale. We love the 55 but that will go upstairs. Sod it, we're getting a 75".Claude wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 5:27 pmWe just had our 55" curved replaced (under insurance after my youngest threw a ball at the screen) with one of these...
