Graft life's hard
The B-Town Grafter was explicitly clear on this point. But then again, you should be getting paid out for the brand new cars; that's the whole point.
I wonder where he is now. Out of prison and probably back on the graft.
"I'm the B-Town Grafter, I creep through your yard; getting paid out for the brand new cars; but I won't lie, graft life's hard; spend half your time living behind bars."
Yo charva! Big whips!

Re: Graft life's hard
I thought grafting was a north of England colloquialism for that sort of activity; whereas grifting was more from the turn of the last century USA.
It's an interesting etymological point though. And I could be incorrect.

Re: Graft life's hard
If a peer told me they had been 'grafting' I would assume they'd been 'working hard'. I'm a Northern bastard.

Re: Graft life's hard
I know very little about the north of England. Or Scotland. Or hard work.
Perhaps it means both things?

"grafting
"Earning money for drugs by whatever means, mostly shoplifting, card fraud, blagging, street robbery, car crime, or prostitution."
That said, Urban Dictionary has about 20 definitions of the term.

Re: Graft life's hard
To me in an honest use it's hard work. In a criminal sense it's corruption, money changing hands for influence, being bought a nice suit or some glasses for example.
There's medical and arboricultural definitions too.

Few boys graft hard, few boys sell nosey.
I wonder what happened to the ginger bowl cut boy. I heard he'd popped and twisted Iccy.
