Oddly they do offer veggie & vegan options, but I can't imagine a vegan is going to sit in a bbq joint surrounding by meat and smoke without having a breakdown

Had my flu jab on Monday - I got the flu six years ago, it lasted eight days, I lost half a stone, and missed my Christmas dinner. I'll be avoiding that again if possible

This weekend I'm not planning on doing much tbh.

How do you get flu and no booster??? I get the flu jab as my immune system is a bit buggered so that gives me a covid invite with the old duffers. Bloody waiting room smells of wee and werthers originals.

Sunday depend on weather. Dry its new drive shafts and disks on the wifes DS3 and if wet ill take the bike down to my camperbus and do some work on that as a few tweaks are needed after its refit and maiden voyage.

Biggest example of gluttony I've ever seen was in a place called Dallas BBQ in NYC. Even the chairs were big but looking around it wasn't hard to see why they were. I've never seen such ridiculous piles of food and pile was a more apt description than portion. Even the fries came in a washing up sized bowl. It was just a load of greasy slow cooked shit slathered in sickly BBQ sauce. They even ruined the slaw with too much sauce over it. We both felt a bit overwhelemed by all the scoffing going on with people processing huge piles of food in a washing machine styled mouth. We left amid questions of what the problem was and went for a normal dinner later. Only good thing to come out of going in there was I looked slim in there!

I'm young enough and healthy enough to not qualify for anything like that on the NHS.

Having now had the decidedly not joyful experience of proper flu twice in my life, I'll sign up to any attempt to avoid it. Same would go for COVID jabs if paying private was an option.

Meanwhile I've now formulated some further weekend plans, and will be sorting out some old tools, and preparing the mower for its visit to the mower doctor (my FiL attempted to mow some raised ironwork with it. It did not go well ).

Next time you're out Matlock way, Buddy's is worth a visit, if you haven't been. A bit Americany and works well. Some great choices of meat platters. We tried a small plate mid afternoon and was superb. Would love to go again for an evening feast.

Dave the cat is going for his 2nd set of jabs Saturday, then a curry with some friend, hopefully try to find time time when it's not raining to get some more running in miles on the BSA.

That's very social cat, made friends already. Curry? I thought they preferred Greek food like mouseaka.

You guys are so sweet. My first thought was “he’s putting the cat IN a curry? He’s only just got it!!!”

Yesterday - bit of drama at school (one guy didn’t come back after the afternoon break having heard he’d failed his test for the second time )

Then drove home a bit late after unsuccessfully looking for him with some of the others

Stopped to pick up a parcel (can now do my hair properly this weekend) then drove home via the only place open to stop and have pizza with two really good friends

So a bit of a late night for me (sober tho, had to drive home!)


Today, had coffee at a mate’s then rode to the valley to have coffee and a veggie pasty at my mates shop!
Heading home soon to ‘do me roots’ and a LOT of homework!! And a bit later do some re-pinking of hair!!!

Tomorrow - hopefully (weather dépendant) heading to the valley for a cinnamon roll and to catch up with a couple of mates. Then home for more homework
