That reminds me, even when you have central locking/plipper on a car it's a good idea, occasionally, to use the actual key in the lock(s). The remote system on my old Volvo failed so the plippers didn't work. Tried to use the key...and the barrels on the driver's door and tailgate were jammed solid. (Fortunately it failed when I tried to lock the car rather than when I tried to open it so I could still get in and use it but couldn't lock it.
