But if you seperate the ethanol ( distilation) you will get pure ethanol......you could drink it ( and go blind) or run a motor on it.....

I blame the cookies for showing me an advert for this...

I want one, but suspect it's not very cat compatible.

I have a similar one, my wife likes the look of it and I wanted a heat source that works in a power cut
It's ok, not a lot of heat and a bit pricey to run but it it gives off a faint smell. Not strong but I don't like it.
My cats are fine with it, interested at first but quickly got bored.

Not any more :( They stopped last year. Pretty sure I watched something saying when tested it was really low, like 1-2% in the sample tested, but not free and could in theory be up to 5%.

How much ethanol is in Esso's E5 fuel?
We currently supply an ethanol-free Synergy Supreme * 99 unleaded in some parts of the UK.
From September 2023 our Synergy Supreme * 99 will transition to contain up to a maximum of 5% ethanol at all Esso pumps irrespective of which part of the country they are located. The labelling at our pumps will remain as E5 for Synergy Supreme * 99 unleaded.

I treated the RE to some of that SS99 today. It's probably the best we can get at the pumps and I like to get some for winter. Tbh, it's probably not an issue anyway, unless we're parking up for 6 months or more.
