Most modern bikes don't have chrome or alloy to polish,so this recommendation is mainly for classics or retros such as Royal Oilfield.

For anything except chrome,this stuff knocks the likes of Autosol and Belgom Alu into a cocked hat,whatever that means.

It's well known in the US,but catching on here too. A lot less effort required than solvol and a noticeably better result.

It doesn't keep & turns into crap once it's opened, You'll likely end up throwing most of it away.

I use Peek, for no particular reason more than the fact i could find a big tin of that but not of autosol.

BTW, real, highly toxic, chrome is way better than the modern stuff IMO.

True, but the heat doesn't affect other metal polishes & I probably have a half dozen kinds.

I've always had people recommend Solvol but, tbh, not been impressed when applied manually. Might work OK with a buffing wheel type thing but I always found the end result didn't justify the effort.

Solvol requires a reasonable amount of effort, and also needs to be used regularly for best results. It's good for getting something already clean and shiny, properly clean and shiny. It also works best on old chrome and nickel plating, modern stuff doesn't get the same finish.

So what works best on alloy that may have got a little, erm, furry...like the bottom end of BMW forks?

I use minimal amounts on a folded blue paper shop towel. I have other stuff to use with power tools.

My old z1000e used to get autosol'd to death. Shiniest outer float bowls known to man. Clutch/alternator/ pickups were also quite spangly
