KTM MotoGP team manager, Francesco Guidotti, is being released a year early from his contract and will be replaced by Aki Ajo. This didn't impress Michael Laverty, who said:
“I’ve heard from a lot of highly qualified engineers that he is the best they’ve worked under. So it’s surprising from KTM.
“I liken it to a Premier League football team who have to point to someone when the results aren’t there, and it’s usually the manager who gets the flick.
“I don’t see the logic behind it. Ajo is a skilled team manager but I don’t see it making any difference to the results on-track.
“I don’t see how moving Ajo in will result in a couple of tenths of a second that they are missing.”

And at the same time Jack Miller thinks he'll have a distinctly positive impact (unless he's just covering himself in case Acosta does actually pull something out on the full factory bike!)

KTM need a Gigi.
They all need a Gigi.

Re: Francesco Guidotto to get the flick from KTM
Aki Ajo has a reputation as someone who wants and gets his own way. Be interesting to see if he butts heads with KTM top brass. Rather than firing the manager I think KTM would do better to look at their development engineers and ask themselves if replacing some with poached Ducati staff might be a good move. But as Skub says, they really need a Gigi.
