This showed up today on one of my 'this day last year' things - putting it here to make up for the smiley face photo.

In a very quirky cocktail bar. My drink was served in a hip flask hidden inside the book... Cos who doesn't love Caitlyn Jenner?

(The restaurant is empty because everyone else who went for lunch had left. We were very much outstaying our welcome!)

Re: Show Us Your Ugly Mugs
Not sure what happened. We went for lunch with friends as we were being sensible. We rolled in around 11pm, pissed as puddings after having a fabulous day.
Hanging from the rafters today.

Re: Show Us Your Ugly Mugs
Yesterday was the last day for any of my group to do retakes. So I stayed on after my retake on Monday and met with another student at the school to show some support for the last guy! (The other last one had yet another tantrum and left before Fabrice arrived!!
After three months and loads of help he still got confused between 'urbain' and 'interurbain' types of routes
)
Anyway, Fabrice and I had planned to go for lunch at the restaurant behind the school and two of our instructors came along too -
Rubbish pic of Fabrice but I did make him take the photo as my right arm wouldn't work for it!!
Great last day there and then Fabrice went to meet another ex student (who didn't have any retakes) on his bus route for the afternoon
Me, Juan, Christophe, Fabrice. Lunch full of mad laughs!! (And, I don't know how many times I've explained that the two fingers sign showing the back of the fingers is a rude sign in England!! LOL I think he does it deliberately now! At least Christophe learnt!
)

Does Fabrice know what that hand signal can mean?

I suspect his use is as in "rock n roll baby"!! But we're in France so it can't be for cuckoldery as they specifically miss out France from the list!

I found this short description -
The REALLY long amount of info on wiki gives a lots of choice! LOLTheis commonly used to mean “rock on.” It may be used when discussing concerts, music groups, or a general “rock and roll” approach to life. In some countries, however, like Spain, Greece, and Italy, the sign of the horns is a very vulgar gesture used to imply that someone's partner is unfaithful.

Re: Show Us Your Ugly Mugs
It does! I was surprised as I only ever knew it as 'putting the horns' on someone. ie the sign of the cuckold. I don't even know where on earth I picked that up from.Noggin wrote: Wed Nov 27, 2024 9:46 am

Oh, and also as part of a questionable taste joke where the punchline is '4 pints please'.
