Forgive me father, for i have sinned

Post by Sadlonelygit »

i have 3 HD in my watchlist
only ridden 8-900 miles this year. ive started to 'notice' scenery as i ride now.
only thing is, i've hated every one i've ridden.
maybe being the wrong side of 60 may have mellowed me, a little.

I'd happily be given an XR1200, I might even ride it.

This one is cheap as chips.

Well that's what it says in the description.

Buy a Guzzi instead.

Or an Enfield.

Do you still need imperial spanners to work on HD's?

I'm 65 and hate the idea of a sensible bike.

He's looking ad HD's not Honda's. Nothing sensible about a Harley, every other manufacturer does it better in every department, except 'coolness'.

Buy one and see how you go. From what I gather they can be sold on easily and hold their price.

Some of the ones I've looked at are 'reasonably' priced compared to some of the prices being asked for some bikes!
Agree about moving it on though should we not gel!

There has been a 1200 Sportster lying in my garage for two years. I hate the sight of the thing.

I would have thought the scenery would have changed more after such a distance TBH.

It is a Harley. They don't do far or fast.

120mph @ 4000 rpm will do me, I might remove the limiter, if I get bored over the winter, which allows it up to 158mph, but that might need a bigger petrol tank to make it worthwhile.

But for now I'm happy to sit at 100 with the cruise control on and relax on m-ways.

I would be happy to be able to use and clutch/throttle for more than 10 minutes, never mind which bike, even struggle to keep hold of the peddler handlebars atm. rheumatoid arthritis sux donkeys balls tbh. But at least i don>t have to worry about getting breath tested in the mornings ;)
