Meh... I'm not arsed then. Some of you may recall 20+ years ago when i was 31 i had a relationship with a girl who turned out to be 17.. (i thought she was 18), we were happy, it was good.
I think he was 50+. The young boy was about 16.
Younger than that when they first met, bit Schof insists nothing happened until they were legal. There's even more to this than his predatory behaviours though. He is a narcissist and well know for bullying in the workplace, notably the car crash interview with Kerry Katona whilst she was in recovery and Dr Singh etc, its quite a list if anyone looks. He is toxic to the tenth degree.

But their inappropriate relationships were with girls, which is totally fine. It's only the bumbers we get upset about.
Is it 'Bumbers' or 'Bummers'?

Sorry for the derail, but being a bit of a grammar pedant I feel this is something we need to get straight* before we start abusing people.

*No pun intended.

Schofield is just doing what every 'celeb' who drops a bollock does on social media. The whole, 'I needs to take some time away from the spotlight, become the better person, reflect on my past behaviour and acknowledge my wrongs...' which is standard PR run book to turn the optics 180 degrees so the villain of the piece becomes the victim.

Only Phil's go full branch 'away from the spotlight', courtesy of C5 who have whisked him to a desert island (albeit with a 5* resort stay either side of his 10 day 'ordeal', I'd wager).

Can't fault his chutzpah.

Not a crime, but a teeny bit too cringe for some.
So how doe we feel about David Bowie?
John Peel?
Jimmy Page
Bill Wyman
etc
HTF Bill Wyman is still accepted in society is beyond me. I say the same about Pete Townshend too. But then look at Huw Edwards, he is involved in peddling of child porn of the worse crime and escapes jail, yet people say hurty words on twitter or chant them in a riot and go to jail. So I guess being a paedo doesn't get you jail time but calling someone one does! :wtf:

If a fictional you or I had done something weird and creepy at work (but not illegal) you'd certainly get the sack. That would probably be the end of it - I doubt it would follow you around (except by gossip) as organisations tend to shy away from iffy defamation and would be happy enough that you wree just not their problem any more.

The problem with being a celebrity is that the public wants to have their 2p, the media want to milk it for all they're worth and any employer needs to be seen to do the right thing and just doesn't need the hassle. So, if you're a celebrity, just don't be a perv / racist / mysogynist / actively-spout-your-political-views. It should be quite easy. Of course Schofield actually admitted it, and it turns out we don't really care for apologies.

And yet he still fronted the BBC's funeral of 'er Maj in full knowledge of his psuedo-peado peddling ways. He may as well have pulled 'er from 'er coffin and bummed 'er still-warm corpse on live telly, whilst wearing that smug smirk and perfect Barnet, the filthy arse-mungler.

Sorry ain't good enough, Schofield! Get thee to a nunnery, or a desert island at the very least. :angry-cussingblack:

Should have been put on an island with a load of psychopath gheys.

Alternatively, a group of very upset and offended mums led, by the boy he had groomed, mother. That I'd watch :obscene-birdiedoublered:

I know who he is,but since I don't see his kind of programmes,I suppose in my case, many fucks are not given.

For me the difference is,the above mentioned folk from the world of music provided content which did interest me. Personally I never had to be an admirer of any particular person to appreciate their work,I can separate the two quite easily.

In my experience most musos, successful or not,are less than perfect people, but I don't have to hate their product because I don't approve of them as humans. I don't think that's being hypocritical, otherwise our options for much of life's entertainment would be greatly curtailed.

Largely true and it may also be true that these people need to be the way they are if they are to produce the goods. Most memorable and popular music of my era was made by flawed, wrecking ball people off their tits on whatever was to hand.

The same seems to be true of many with an urge to seek the limelight, but maybe, like moths to a flame, it's the light (and the money and the adulation...although that doesn't apply to moths  ) that does for them. TV, Hollywood, music, politics, social media, electric cars, - if they weren't damaged when they entered it seems that few come out of it with their wings (or their brains) intact. :(

I thought David Bowie shagged thousands of people and only a tiny, tiny proportion were underage. Which I know doesn't make it ok, but he certainly wasn't seeking them out. And as said it was the 70s and rock n roll etc.

That said, if he did it to my daughter I'd be chasing him into the darkness with the replica samurai sword.

People did not go to jail for posting "hurty" words, they went to prison for rioting and inciting riots on social media. They all pleaded guilty and had the chance to say they were innocent and face trial but chose not to.
