A 4,7 apparently with the epicentre about 3km away from us.
I was nearby for (and woken up by!) the Market Rasen earthquake in 2008. It was the sound more than anything which struck me.
I was 1.5 miles from the Dudley earthquake in 2002 (4.8, so similar to both).
It was the middle of the night and my other half at the time woke me up to ask what it was - the huge rumbling noise and the fact I was being shaken from side to side in bed is what I remember most. 😱
However, I said 'thunder storm?', rolled over and went back to sleep 😆
I am not easily disturbed while sleeping 😆

I remember just saying (sleepily) "it was an Earthquake" to Mrs D's similar inquiry like it was the most obvious thing. Cause you know, we got a lot of Earthquakes in Leicestershire :hmmm:

Yesterday actually, I did first day of a Govt Spanish course.
I've tried loads of stuff here to learn, but struggled. Did a few courses, but not with proper teachers.

This lass was good and had us all interacting with each other. I like the way it works. 30 week course :)

She spoke Spanish all the way through, but clearly and slowly with simple words. I was surprised how much I already knew.

Got up at 3am
Got to school at 5.40am

Didn't get enough coffee for the day

Had the slightly grumpy/scary instructor for the day but cos one of our team was late, it meant that the three of us got 2hours driving each which was awesome :D (Although, scary/grumpy instructor, so 50/50)

Now in an hotel room needing a siesta and failing!! LOL

Went to a 9:00 hospital appointment this morning. Was there just before 08:30 and was met with the sign below. I was the only one there so assumed it was from the day before.Turned out it wasn't, it was because the Doctor hadn't arrived yet. Wonder if he'd mind if I was 30 minutes late.

Re-plumbed a radiator.

Added Fernox anti-freeze stuff to the central heating system (have changed a few radiators now, so best to top it up before the cold weather hits).

Taken VW wheel for new tyre.

Picked up repaired mower tyre.

Checked and adjusted tyre pressures on both cars while in a tyre frame of mind.

Packed for my delayed trip to Italy tomorrow.

Perhaps I should be thankful for easyJet cancelling today's flight and giving me a spare day for odd jobs 😆

Went out on my motorsickle!!
Found lots of flooded places, had a coffee at a roadside van who said he had been very quiet, possibly due to the weather but even the trucks weren’t stopping. He gave me the coffee for free too, result.
Found many more flooded roads on the way back but I went off the main roads so not too surprised, quite a few abandoned cars too.
Now home, cuppa, boost bar, listening to music.
Good day I reckon.

Cleaned up from last weeks brick laying/concrete work.

Gassed up the F350 (technically "dieseled up")

$128.00 for 29.774 (US) gallons @ $4.299/gal

*Proper* gallons: 23.8192, so that's $5.378/gal

which works out to £96 at today's exchange rate*, so £4.03 per UK gal or £3.22/US gal

*$1.00 = £0.75

What diesel over there right now? (in gallons, NOT fucking litres)

All figures are under the assumption my math brain was working this morning.

This would fit in well with my green blood :)
