Respect for the police has been eroded partly because of previous governments policies but also because the police have been politicised and because they'd rather chase people for upsetting snowflakes on social media than going out and catching real criminals.BBC wrote:Labour's mission "is to restore respect for the rule of law on British streets, including restoring respect for the police, which has sadly been eroded over many years," she said.
I don't think that Starmers first few weeks in No 10 has done very much to change the public's perception.

More Lucy Letby news. Seems concerns were raised about a doctor but the records of doctors shifts were deleted.
"Leaked documents reveal that neonatal unit manager Eirian Powell and lead consultant Dr Stephen Brearey created a staffing chart for unexpected deaths and collapses. The chart included both nurses and doctors on duty during incidents. However, Powell was alarmed to discover that when the chart reached Alison Kelly, executive director of nursing, the column listing doctors had been deleted"

BBC News - Notting Hill Carnival is 'poorly run' - Met chief
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c77xjv11lm8o
So as well as getting a bit stabby (mind you, only two murders this year, so good work Carnival Ltd), looks like the Met are worrying about it getting a bit crushy as well.
Still, looks like the organisers and the Met are working in perfect harmony, so roll on next year.

Starmer is certainly gaining some great and just monikers! He seems to be out to top every criticism he's ever made at the Tories! I don't think i've ever seen such blatant hypocrisy!

Giving and taking bribes seems so natural to him that he can't stop, makes me wonder about the CPS and how they decide which celebrities to ignore.

Re: In todays news...
This whole story about Mohamed Al-Fayed being a bit of a sex pest.
All I can add to this is that he once threatened to cut my mate's cock off with a banana knife.

Re: In todays news...
I once knew a bloke who worked on Al-fayeds in house security. They were in a place over the road to the main building and it was apparently connected by an under the road walkway. He said Al-Fayed was paranoid about security and had both visible and hidden cctvs everywhere that were monitored 24/7. Apparently he was proper obsessive about these things which makes me wonder if any incriminating footage will emerge at some point...

You can say what you like about Mohamed Al-Fayed, you can make all kinds of allegations. He will never be able to defend himself, he will never get a fair trial and most importantly, he will not be able to sue you for libel.
Also, he was rich, if people believe you, you might be in line for a windfall. So go for it.

Mind, the allegations of a rich Arabic nan being a bit rapey shouldn't really come as a shock to anybody.

Re: In todays news...
A suspected gunman arrested near Donald Trump's golf-course wrote a note months earlier saying he intended to kill the former president, a court filing shows.
"This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump," the note says.
The pre-written letter, addressed to "The World", appears to pre-empt a failed assassination attempt. "I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster," it reads.

I don't know about you but I'm convinced.
