The TDR 250 has left my garage

Post by cheb »

It was fun but it needed to be used more so it went to a chap down near Bath late last week.

A very easy sale, he knew someone up here to whom I mentioned I wanted to sell the bike. Money transferred via the wonders of the 'net, as was the V5.

It seems it is, with half bike equivalent unit.

Chatting to one of the mechanics while my van was in the garage resulted in the sale of the DT200R. He offered me an Aprilia trials bike at a price I couldn't refuse. That's the other half bike equivalent unit.

I'm not sure of the exact details of the bike but I'll find out soon. If it's anything less than utterly fucked the job's a good 'un.

Have you had a trials bike before? Let us know how you get on with this one.

No, I've not had a trials bike before, and yes I will.

I suspect it will need some work.

I chanced across the chap again, it's an Aprilia TXR312. At least that's what I think he said, every time I try to chat to him somebody starts using a grinder, needle gun or the like. It is a working garage after all.

They really are a cracking bike, but sadly I don't have the practice nor skill to do it justice these days. I rarely ride for fun.

I got £2,750 for it which I think was fair. It wasn't in the best of condition and was an import. It was also pretty much a certainty the chap would buy it based on the pictures I sent him and a good long phone chat. Purely for the convenience that's worth a few hundred pounds to me.
