Best value big naked out there at the moment ?

Post by weeksy »

What's for you, the bargain of the big super naked class out there ?

At times it had to be the KTM 1290GT when they were throwing them out at £10499.

But i think it's REALLY hard to beat the Yamaha MT-10 at the moment in terms of power, performance, electronics, stance and value for money

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2016-YAMAHA- ... Sw2gBfspAo

£7000.... That's not a ridiculous figure at all is it !

£7k... for a four year old 2nd hand bike with 12k on the clocks. They were what, £11k new?

I dunno seems about right to me.

I'd much rather have a slightly older Tuono V4 for that money.

I guess... but if you think of what the £7000 gets you in terms of performance compared to say a £17,000 V4Tuono, then you've got to imagine it's insanely good value.

I'm just not feeling that at all !

You've never been tootling along the by-pass in your car when a V4 'prilla on an open pipe comes past at full chat.

Wanted one ever since, someday I'll get round to owning one.

I agree, bangs for bucks it's good value....... but you can still get good deals on 20my Tuono Factory's to bring it down to less than £14k. And the Factory's natural competitor would be the SP, rather than the cooking MT10.

If I were in the market for a £7k naked, said Tuono wouldn't be on my radar though.

Rode one in France. Cramped, tight, twitchy, tricky to ride, small.... Didn't get on with it i have to say... Also ridden the RSV4 which was nowhere near as good as the 1199 i rode before it.

The MT-10 is arguably the best bike i've ever ridden, rode Trickys and fell in love with it within a mile.

Are second hand bikes suffering from COVID Lockdown inflation in the same way that many other leisure items are?

Not from what i've seen. I check prices/bikes of different types from 899s to MT10s and 1290SDR, they all seem to be around the same money you'd think.

P/X prices don't seem lower than you'd expect either..

If you can put up with only 135bhp, £7k will get you my late 2015, 12k mile 1200 Monster. I might even give you £250 back.
its up for Sale now.

I've not been up close to a new shape Speed Triple but are they really that small? I can see the Street being a bit little but is the Speed?

Unless i'm getting confused with bikes i've sat one, it's small and also reach to the bars is short.... That's why they're so nimble and agile though i guess.

But for £1500 more than the MT-10... Nah, not for me.
