Trump's as much to blame as anyone for this sort of thing IMO. Not in that he's directly inciting violence or anything like that, but because of something far more fundamental and dangerous. He's a massive contributor to the personal attacks, transactional relationship, name calling, proof-not-required, winning-more-important-than-leading* style of campaign. The worst there's ever been.
Funny (not) that he blames the other side’s use of language for this “ attack “….

Still, it’ll no doubt help his poll ratings, without risk of injury this time. It seems they need some help.

Well I didn't grow up in a middle class family so I don't think I'm qualified to answer. :(

Hardly a measure of middle classness - it all depends on how you hold your knife and if you call it a serviette or a napkin!

I've a friend who was a butler before he retired, I'll ask his opinion.

We had an outside toilet and a tin bath hanging up in the back yard. Is that working class enough for you? :D

Tin bath hanging up? How did you get in? More to the point, how did you fill it up? :wtf:

You know those suits you have hanging in your wardrobe? How do you get into those?

I was a young child, I can't remember. I do know that we had a gas water heater in the kitchen and a kettle. We would have a bath once a week (whether we were dirty or not ;) ).

A yard? That's practically a country estate! You was posh beyond comprehension.

I know, sheer luxury. :D

My grandad lived in a terraced cottage. His toilet was in a block at the end of the terrace.

November 1969 or 1970, having spent the day doing Penny For The Guy*, my grandfather decided it would be a good idea to leave the guy sat on the growler at the end of his back yard that night. My mothers screams woke half the street when she went to pee in the middle of the night :)

I grew up working class, I know this because I once had a job at McDonalds when I was 16.

My grandparents lived out in the sticks in Herefordshire, outside toilet and a cold tap in the kitchen, heating was an open fire in the living room, they did have electricity. When they retired they moved to a bungalow in Leominister, it had hot and cold water, central heating, the works. As a child if I wasn't in Herefordshire for school holidays I was suffering similar conditions in Ireland.

I live in an old 1930s built bungalow. It had an outside privvy originally. My wifes dad was born in this road and he said it was the eldest kids job to bury your dead at the bottom of the garden! Yes tat does mean empty the bucket into a dug hole!
