Trump's as much to blame as anyone for this sort of thing IMO. Not in that he's directly inciting violence or anything like that, but because of something far more fundamental and dangerous. He's a massive contributor to the personal attacks, transactional relationship, name calling, proof-not-required, winning-more-important-than-leading* style of campaign. The worst there's ever been.

I was a young child, I can't remember. I do know that we had a gas water heater in the kitchen and a kettle. We would have a bath once a week (whether we were dirty or not ).

I grew up working class, I know this because I once had a job at McDonalds when I was 16.

My grandparents lived out in the sticks in Herefordshire, outside toilet and a cold tap in the kitchen, heating was an open fire in the living room, they did have electricity. When they retired they moved to a bungalow in Leominister, it had hot and cold water, central heating, the works. As a child if I wasn't in Herefordshire for school holidays I was suffering similar conditions in Ireland.
