Re: Digital Tyre Pressure Gauge??
I've got a cheap GT Moto one and a Halfrauds one.
They both read within 0.5 psi of each other.
The GT is easier to get on most valves, but I have to use the Halfrauds one on the GS due to the spoke/valve arrangement.
I don't think either cost more than a tenner.

Yeah. Can't get digital ones here. The only one I found was too small to read small pressures accurately.

Re: Digital Tyre Pressure Gauge??
I always end up breaking the digital ones really quickly so i have a draper 69924 analogue with a flexible hose (you can order it without the hose). the hose is really handy for bikes as it is nice and narrow onto the valve. It holds the pressure as well so when you take it off, you can see the pressure level.

Re: Digital Tyre Pressure Gauge??
I just use a pencil gauge... the batteries always were flat in the digital ones whenever I needed it.
Or fit a tyre pressure monitoring kit...

I use a Topeak digital guage. Topeak is a bicycle brand but it works on other tyres as well, does both presta and schrader valves.

I use one of these, most convenient

My trusty pencil gauge just failed. The screw fell out of the endThe Spin Doctor wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2024 6:23 pm I just use a pencil gauge... the batteries always were flat in the digital ones whenever I needed it.

Re: Digital Tyre Pressure Gauge??
I'd never used one of them until I borrowed my Dad's recently (he keeps one in their tow to quickly change the rear tyre pressure when on caravan holidays).
What is this magic? Bollox to pumping with your foot any more.
His one is self contained and charges from a ciggy lighter or bespoke power block, but all the usual suspects of battery power tool make em too I think.
Re: Digital Tyre Pressure Gauge??
I have a Halfords digital one which seems OK but isn't always easy to use on bike wheels. I also have a handful of the old displacement pencil types and they do last longer and have repeatable (in)accuracy over their life. Its the rotten rubber seal which can kill them. The most fragile gauges are the dial mechanical ones with aneroid style expanding chambers. Any miss handling throws them out of calibration in no time.

Re: Digital Tyre Pressure Gauge??
It's not digital (it's defiantly analogue), but it's the best tyre pressure gauge I've ever used.

Re: Digital Tyre Pressure Gauge??
Yes I bought one of those RaceX ones, probably on your recommendation. Its very good so far but it won't always fit on small wheels such as scooters where discs and final drive cases or sprockets get in the way. I don't doubt that inside there is a delicate mechanism so I try to treat it with care and wouldn't leave it rattling around in a toolbox or car boot.mangocrazy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 12:45 pm It's not digital (it's defiantly analogue), but it's the best tyre pressure gauge I've ever used.

Yes, I treat it as you would a precision instrument. Take your point about using it on scooters or similar, I only use it on bike/car/van wheels.

Re: Digital Tyre Pressure Gauge??
Was gonna order one tonight as a mate is coming over soon.
Earlier pulled the bucket from under shelf and emptied the sponges out.
Guess what fell out? Fark. How did it get in there ?
Still working OK
