Friday thread... the Brrrrrrr it's not summer now.
Chilly again this morning. Might have to buy some gas for the fire just in case.
Fri. WFH in morning, then afternoon off to drive to Wales and set up camp.... Try not to die overnight from cold.
Sat. After a rubbish sleep in the van it's practice day for the lad... then Seeding in the afternoon. Party time (sort of) in the evening and another cold sleep.
Sun. Race day. Final National DH race of 2024. If we're still alive that is.... then a drive home to relax

Heading out of Amiens to Bethune so it's only a short trip back to Calais for Le Shuttle Saturday morning and the trip home. Sunday, doing the washing.

Re: Friday thread... the Brrrrrrr it's not summer now.
WFH and I to go to step Dads as he's having hand rails put in the shower. They'll text me with a 2 hour time slot. Last time they didn't turn up so i'm hoping this is not another waste of my time! Will sort his online banking out whilst I'm there hopeully. He keeps locking himself out of everything or switching his tv to Arabic or suchlike. Back round there with my wife this evening and will probably treat him to a take away, fish n' chips or suchlike.
Saturday, hopefully order some new decking. Cant get anyone to do it so have go to do it myself. Then go an d price up some new flooring again i'll have to do it myself. Apparently the flooring game has changed and its not just laminate anymore there's some new types in town? I'm easily confused. Ho hum..
My Daughter is coming down early afternoon as she is at a party at her mates in the evening. Not sure if shes staying with us or there. But she's coming to us so we can take her to see step dad before she goes. I'm hoping to have her car here to mop with compound and then polish and wax it as it really needs it.
Sunday over to daughters house for a bbq and see the garden makeover they've just done. I'm really looking forward to this but suspect it might not happen as she's at a party the night before with her besties and I reckon she'll be too hungover...

Re: Friday thread... the Brrrrrrr it's not summer now.
There's a bakery place on one of the little back streets that's quite good. Used to be really good, churning out breakfast stuff in the morning, plus bread for sandwiches at lunchtime along with huge scones with communal pots of jam and cream to help yourself from. The model has changed a bit (probs post-covid) but the food is still good.
If only I could remember the name and location, without which, this recommendation is fairly fecking useless.

Thank you, and you're not wrong.
I won't be making any decisions today.

Off to Stile Cop shortly, historically have taken the van, but when we got the new mh was put off by the awful state of the car park there. So taking the car, the wife's dropping me off at Sc then driving round to Marquis drive and going trail running then returning for me 3 hours later..

Re: Friday thread... the Brrrrrrr it's not summer now.
Today I'm in the office, on half day, as we have a table booked at Smiths of Wapping*, which is despicably close to my place of employment. Mrs. G's birthday lunch with friends. Should be a nice, lazy afternoon.
On Saturday, due to the Bank of England doing system changes, I shall have to roll out of bed at 6am and indulge in a dress rehearsal for a major system change, the first of two before the big day. Feckers. Out Saturday night too. Not a smart move.
Sunday - probably very little.

Back from Welsh Wales so doing all the washing etc today, and buying some handlebars for the bike to stop my back hurting.
Saturday, on the bike to the F’s to clean and sort the caravan, then wine and chill.
Sunday, relaxing, Lamb shanks for Sunday lunch.
Monday, home ready to get back on my head on Tuesday.
Have fun whatever you’re up to
Mick.

Re: Friday thread... the Brrrrrrr it's not summer now.
Today, taken delivery of 2 dumpy bags full of hardwood logs, so at some point I’ll need to get them stacked in the log store. I’ve already moved them from kerbside to a big pile next to the log store.
Tomorrow, upgrading the speakers and adding an amplifier to the convertible so I hopefully have a chance of hearing music with the hood down. Should be a simple case of plug & play as I’ve pretty much copied someone else’s install from the SLK forum.
Sunday, probably a bit of clothes shopping.
I’m hoping to get to see a screening of Jodie Comer in Prima Facie at the National Theatre which is doing the rounds in selected cinemas at some point.

Re: Friday thread... the Brrrrrrr it's not summer now.
It's to be reasonable weather, particularly next week. It's supposed to get warmer again too,so some petrol wastage is likely.
Need to get the grass cut today and the yearly hedges trim probably next week. The hedges are a hateful job, which I can see me paying someone to do in the near future.

Re: Friday thread... the Brrrrrrr it's not summer now.
I basically just want to crawl into a corner and do nothing. Right now!
At the moment I’m waiting for my boss to arrive at a Renault place for me to give him a lift back to resort. So I’m going to leave Chambery two hours later than I could have done if he’d not asked me to wait. Probably wouldn’t mind so much but I’m knackered and want to get home. And he didn’t offer to pay the fuel or tolls for the last favour I did for him (which involved losing about 3 hours sleep on a school day ffs). I know he’s lent me a vehicle to get to school but equally I’m doing the course for his business and he’s not exactly been helpful or supportive so far . Hey ho. Two hour drive tired and emotional with my boss will not be ideal
Tomorrow - as late start as I can get away with. Will probably do no homework tomorrow as think i need a brain break since it’s basically blocked my ability to understand and speak French this week!!
Oh. Got to phone the number of one of my. Épiées friends that wants to come out to resort when my niece and nephew come out in December. Could REALLY do without trying to organise all this right now but she hasn’t been yet so need to make the same effort for her that I did for him. Just too tired to deal with niece’s mother texting me as each time it instills panic incase she sends a shitty text (I’ve had a few over the years!!)
Sunday - Will probably try and get to the valley to see a friend - here’s hoping that it doesn’t snow and I can go by bike!! Then it can snow loads once I’m home! Will need to do some learning and revision ready for Monday
Could really do with a big enough lotto win just to buy a car right now then I can just do school and not be beholden to the boss

Re: Friday thread... the Brrrrrrr it's not summer now.
Had lunch today in Liverpool with my eldest and her girlfriend, it was lovely. Great pizza (Rudy's, top of Bold Street. You might not finish a whole one on your own) and a bit of a wander around, a sit and a chat in the sun.
Forecast looks suspiciously good for tomorrow at least, might get out on a bike. Haven't had a trip over into Wales for ages.

Re: Friday thread... the Brrrrrrr it's not summer now.
Had an awful Friday 13th due to the transport office being fucking idiots.
Tomorrow is granddaughter's birthday, she's 5.
Have to drive 70 miles on Sunday to the ex's to see the MiniJawas, 9yo daughter is in trouble at school for fighting. The apple didn't fall far from the tree with that one.
