Re: This time next year, President Trump moves back into the Whitehouse...
Apart from the unfortunate programme title (and why should YouTube channels have all the fun? ) it was actually quite thought provoking.
Some of the opinion from both sides was rather extreme I thought. So the glee and fear was balanced in equal measure. As per above, if we learnt one thing from Trump's previous presidency, then almost certainly some of his extreme claims about "what he will do on day one" won't happen, and similarly some of the opposition claims that he would authorise mass deportation, amonsgt other things, also seem quite unlikely. Most likely he would do more vague babbling, do his Statesman Face a lot when it the company of other world leaders, and drag his poor sad-looking missus around.
The overall impression was that he's an erratic and unprepared bull-in-a-china-shop President, nothing we didn't know already. Quite similar to Boris, and we all know how that went.

Re: This time next year, President Trump moves back into the Whitehouse...
As pro Trump KT Macfarlnd put it, he's a big picture guy and leaves the underlings to sort out the details. I get that about Trump and it ties in with what the heavily disgruntled and anti-Trump John Bolton saying Trumps decisions are like neuron flashes because he doesn't think beyond the moment! Because Trump only suits Trump, his ideas he has for the general well being of America will be his, as he isn't really led by others such as donors etc. So his narcissism and ideas run in parallel. He really believes he will MAGA!DefTrap wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 10:57 amApart from the unfortunate programme title (and why should YouTube channels have all the fun? ) it was actually quite thought provoking.

Sounds exactly like Kamala Harris to be honest...
"Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So basically that's wrong."
Except that quote isn't made up, nor is it aimed at five year olds!

Harris finally posted her policies on her website... Which was just a cut & paste from Biden's website including the line about re-electing Joe Biden.

Being extra pedantic it was actually the website code they C+Pd
So this isn't "Harris has no policies" but "Harris has lazy IT"

It's starting to look like the basic premis of this entire thread is flawed.
As each campaign progresses Trump is losing his vote share. The longer it goes on the more he loses. It's not totally clear cut and there's so.e room for change.
This from the commie leftist rag, the Financial Times. Caution, contains some numbers.

I’m not sure you’ve read that right Demo. That doesn’t show Harris in the lead, it shows the EC without the key swing states.demographic wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 8:34 pm It's starting to look like the basic premis of this entire thread is flawed.

The exact opposite of what is being reported in the US... but we still have the same fucking clueless pollsters who claimed Clinton was going to thrash Trump in a landslide...demographic wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 8:34 pm It's starting to look like the basic premis of this entire thread is flawed.

I think what's going to happen is they will keep counting votes until well into December to give Harris the win.
We have the debate in a few hours, I won't be watching any of it. I'll just watch the new reports later to see which one fucked up more than the other.

So when an IT glitch brings down a company website it's clearly the CEO that's made an unwise coding or parameter change?
There is no cloud, just somebody else's computer.

But if the CEO says "Hey, we're getting some flak about our mission statement, just copy and paste the old shit from the last CEO to keep the buggers happy." Yes, he is to blame.

Re: This time next year, President Trump moves back into the Whitehouse...
Do you actually think that a Presidential candidate gets involved in the nuts and bolts of website maintenance? There would be multiple levels of management between Harris and whichever clueless sap actually did the copy and paste. One or more levels of management (as well as the clueless sap) will be having squeaky bum time about now.Saga Lout wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 11:39 pmNo.mangocrazy wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 11:25 pmSo when an IT glitch brings down a company website it's clearly the CEO that's made an unwise coding or parameter change?

I am fully expecting it to be an unmitigated disaster for Harris.
She is as dumb as a brick and there's no way she will be able to hide that no matter how helpful the pre prepared questions they feed her.

At the recreation of the Truman Oval Office at the Truman Library in 1959, former President Truman poses by his old desk which has the famous "The Buck Stops Here" sign.

Trump told Kamala to end the debate, wake up Biden and tell him to do his job. LOL!!!
Kamala Harris actually said that January 6th was the worst attack on our democracy since the civil war…The day before 9/11.

Not sure if the "result" of this stage managed "debate" is as cut and dried as I thought it would be.
Kamala was certainly well prepared, as were the hosts, clearly on her side and clearly anti Trump.
It will be a disaster for the world if whoever is running the Biden/Harris administration is allowed to continue...
