I put mine on for an hour every now and again just because I think standing idle for months on end may not be the best thing for the pump etc. No evidence to support the theory, it just makes sort of sense. :D

Yup. I always run mine for an hour in summer just to check it and of course plumbers are actually available if there is a problem!

Ours has mainly been on to help dry washing more than heating the place, but today it went on as my wife was cold, hich is pretty amazing as she normally baking in her menopause oven! :D

Sigh, attempting to cobble together two different dog pram bike tow bar connecting rods together………two hours later, order a new connecting rod at £50 after my “cleverness” and trying to be “smart” got the better of me. Probably also £200ish as managed to scratch Mrs M’s MTB fork stanchion so next service they’ll want to replace that………

I've finally managed to get on the Govt sponsored language course.
It's been a real battle.

There's a big dedicated language school and a 30 week course is only 75€

But no bugger there speaks English. Been several times and each time I need something else but no-one can help me.
Had to fill in 4 different forms and make 2 payments.

The website to even register for the course was designed by a 10 year old.

It's their country, their rules and I'm a guest.
But you'd imagine that when they've spent so much money to run the course and the building, they'd employ a couple of folk to help the customers, who obviously don't speak much Spanish.

But hey ho. I'm booked in 😀

Little tip for both of you - book in to do a training course of at least three months that is unexpectedly technical and written (as opposed to practical) - you'll be fluent in no time!!

Think my boss is trying ti kill me! Got a message on Friday - can you pick me up at GVA on Monday, flight gets in at 19:30

Well no - I'm in Chambery until 20:50 then it's an hour and a half minimum to get to GVA.

FFS - he said, Ok, I'll wait!!

Not the end of the world, but after a week of getting up at 5am to get to school for 8am, I have two late starts/late finishes this week yesterday and today, so start at 13:30 and finish at 20:50. So, still woke up before 7am yesterday, school for that afternoon evening, drive to GVA, home by half past midnight. Then up to get ready, ending up leaving early for school as there'd been a big accident on the main road and I wasn't sure if I'd need to divert!

By the end of today I could barely speak any language

Am currently in an hotel down the road as I need to be back by 8am tomorrow and figured that 5 hours (max) of sleep probably wouldn't be enough!  (At least this hotel as aircon! It's rather lovely in comparison to the F1 version - and not much difference in price!! :bblonde: :bblonde:

Last week a couple of gals I know mentioned being "allergic" to mosquito bites.

Thought that was a bit odd, never heard of such a thing.

This week I get bitten by mosquitos on the arm, each bite swelled up about 1/2in across a 2in circle. WTF?

So I look up "mosquito bite allergic reaction" & discover it's actually a thing... usually bites swell up just like what happened to me. It's called "Skeeter syndrome"

Car booked in for tomorrow for a new window regulator. Dropped down this morning and jammed. At least the mechanic could haul it back up and I can use the car today. Off to take a service now and carry on with the Bible Study series. Meetings this afternoon and then hopefully a quieter evening.

One who forgives an affront fosters friendship, but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.
