2024 San Marino GP
Hope it's a good weekend.
MMarquez is still up there and Acosta was looking strong but other than that its a GP24fest up at the front.
Practice results:

Fair play to Pecco for getting his aching body round Misano quick enough to top the timesheets. It was only 5 days ago he was being dragged underneath a 170kg motorcycle...

Re: 2024 San Marino GP
I'm confused (not hard, I know!) - Quartarao 'seems' to qualify sort of ok (10th ish??) but nothing in the race.
So is the bike just not capable of a whole race but sort of ok for qualifying?
I'm certain sure it's a stupid question, but my brain is still tired from 'school'!! LOL

Re: 2024 San Marino GP
I think it's the other way around - he doesn't have great single lap pace, but race pace is better (but not brilliant). So because he doesn't qualify well, his race is severely compromised because he's starting from way back. If he can qualify closer to the front he will (hopefully) be able to exploit his race pace. But the Yam is still lacking speed compared to the European bikes, so he's facing an uphill struggle either way.Noggin wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 11:46 am I'm confused (not hard, I know!) - Quartarao 'seems' to qualify sort of ok (10th ish??) but nothing in the race.

Re: 2024 San Marino GP
Thank you. I know the Yam is a bit rubbish so thought qualifying 10th on a shit bike was reasonably good, but it makes sense that actually it's not a good enough position for shit bikemangocrazy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 1:16 pmI think it's the other way around - he doesn't have great single lap pace, but race pace is better (but not brilliant). They've definitely found something at Yamaha in the last couple or weekends, just need to find a bit of luck too, now.

Re: 2024 San Marino GP
Enjoyed that - way better than the sprint yesterday.
Hope Acosta can figure out out to complete a full race like that - to be up that high among the Ducatis on that bike is impressive. Martín might well have a bit of a mental struggle after those decision - especially with the next race being back here again.
Quatararo nearly nicking 6th on he last lap was great and, again, a great weekend for the championship.
Felt a bit more like proper MotogGP.

Could Marc actually be world champ this year, can you imagine, it would silence a hell of a lot of Rossi fan boys

Re: 2024 San Marino GP
WTF was Martin thinking? What a strange decision to make.
I fell asleep the last 10 laps. Moto2 wasn't much better, but Moto3 was epic entertainment.

S'funny but I'm gripped 100% no matter if it's a quiet race.
All 3 races.
But manage a nap between Moto2 and MotoGP

Only just caught up with the main race. WTF was Martin thinking! I thought Pecco was stupid the week before but Martin knocked that out the park
