Amazing 5 hour enduro ride. Found great new tapas place out in the sticks.
Dip in the pool. Now chilling before I head inside to catch up on MotoGP.
Then watch footy.
Then into town

Re: What have you done today thread?
I woke up really late (I did go to bed after midnight!! LOL) and had a brunch and then a mate dropped me down to the village at the bottom of the road so I could get the bike from the depot.
Damn, it was awesome fun to find that!! I know it's not a bike I'd want to buy, but just being able to ride on a sunny day off is AWESOME!!!
Now sorting paperwork n stuff ready for revision tomorrow - after an early bike ride

Re: What have you done today thread?
This morning I had a coffee morning at one of my churches. Helped someone with sorting 28 days of accommodation, they were in danger of being made homeless. Another family have to move by 24th Sept as they are being evicted, the husband walked out on them taking all the furniture and anything of value, leaving his two young children and wife to fend for themselves. She has got a job as a TA, but cannot make ends meet on her very small salary, so is being evicted. Trying to get something sorted for her as well.
The afternoon saw me conducting a wedding at a local church that is in interregnum and so I happily married the couple, took the document to the registrars office and went home. Walked the dog, ate a superb meal cooked by the wife and am shortly to write my sermon for tomorrows services.

Been to see The Southmartins tonight, Housemartins and Beautiful South tribute band, they were great. It won’t be long before I see Paul Heaton in concert, sadly not supported by Jacqui Abbot but the replacement, Rhiannon sounds great, well what I’ve seen of her on the Glastonbury coverage.

Fed up with weather spoiling BBQ plans so decided to do a roast beef dinner. Brisket in the slow cooker and spud sand parsnips peeled etc. Fooking sun has come out now!

Woken slightly bleary-eyed to a shared video of me leading the staff and some begrudging customers of a local Italian restaurant in several verses of 'Tanti aguri a te', the Italian version of Happy Birthday to You, in a helium-induced squeaky voice.
Several of the staff then took turns with the balloon for further verses. I received a free glass of Averna for my troubles.
I suspect if a ring for a table again any time soon they'll be fully booked.

Saw the southmartins a few years ago and they were good. Seen Heaton and Abbott a couple of times - her voice is exceptional live. Got tickets to see Heaton and Rhiannon in Brid in November.

I put mine on for an hour every now and again just because I think standing idle for months on end may not be the best thing for the pump etc. No evidence to support the theory, it just makes sort of sense.

Yup. I always run mine for an hour in summer just to check it and of course plumbers are actually available if there is a problem!Count Steer wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 12:46 pmI put mine on for an hour every now and again just because I think standing idle for months on end may not be the best thing for the pump etc. No evidence to support the theory, it just makes sort of sense.
Ours has mainly been on to help dry washing more than heating the place, but today it went on as my wife was cold, hich is pretty amazing as she normally baking in her menopause oven!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Sigh, attempting to cobble together two different dog pram bike tow bar connecting rods together………two hours later, order a new connecting rod at £50 after my “cleverness” and trying to be “smart” got the better of me. Probably also £200ish as managed to scratch Mrs M’s MTB fork stanchion so next service they’ll want to replace that………
